Best catagory 1 quick hitch ?

Had a landpride that was VERY well built but sold it when I got the Pats ez hitch. That was a much better set up though the quick hitch was still pretty good. I did have to modify my box blade. The box blade had a metal lip that protruded under the pins. Not a problem with a conventional lower arm but it was in the way when you have to come up from underneath. I had to cut away a slot to allow the "hooks" on both the quick hitch and Pats to engage from underneath. this was the only implement I had to modify.

The post wasn't directed to you although you chose to reply to it as if it was.

There are a few people out there that would like to be able to hook up everything they come across - even implements shared by or with a neighbor.

Not all folks have the time, skill, desire, or brand loyalty to work over all, or most, of their equipment to 1/2" tolerances.

Then there is the issue of those of us who have both Cat 1 and Cat 2 attachments that share among tractors.

Just one more thing. Some of the top link hook ups on an implement have a support just under the pin that prevents hook-type quick hitch top links from attaching from below.

Your original post was not directed any one person since you did not include a quote...it was a broad sweeping comment that you stated as fact.

Here is one I documented on my chipper: New-to-Me Goossen Chipper/Shredder - TractorByNet.com Hope that helps:thumbsup:

Nice example, thanks again....and that chipper is awesome. I don't ever see stuff like that for sale when I'm out driving around, but I keep looking! Anyway, it doesn't look like modifying things to fit a quick hitch is that big of a deal, honestly. I guess it depends on your "modification skills" and what you are willing to do to make it work. I've seen a few posts and reviews where people get really mad because their stuff doesn't work perfectly with these quick hitches right off the bat. I don't see it as a big problem. thanks again for the info.

Nice try. Mine was the third post and used the pronoun "you" so was obviously responding to the OP. Choosing to read it as "everyone" was your choice.

The OP stated that he/she has several different implements to attach to the tractor. It is a fact that some implements are not made to exactly match the tolerances of a particular frame-style hitch. You found that out as fact since you had to modify several implements to fit your Deere quick hitch according to your own words.

In my second post (#18), details of why disappointment was likely were explained.

Nevertheless, there is no point in engaging in a pi$$ing contest with you. You are happy with you setup and that is the bottom line. My point is that the OP will most likely be happy with a quick hitch system that can conform to a variety of different implements that may not be constructed to the specific standards required by frame-style quick hitches.

As far as "disappointment" is concerned, it is very likely that you were pleased with the implements that fit right up to your quick hitch and "less pleased" with those that did not. It is a matter of semantics.

And yes, I have owned and used a couple of frame-style quick hitches. Also owned are a variety of implements, some home-made, that do not conform to standard measures. Rather than modify them all, the simple fix of using the Pat's system was chosen.

BTW, I try not to quote unless necessary to save bandwidth and clutter (like this lengthy post turned out to be).

Done.

Have had the Deere iMatch all the years they've been on the market, and can't see improving on it. There are other systems, like Pat's, that go just part way to the ideal quick hitch. Ones where "you" don't have to get off the tractor to hook anything up.

Unfortunate that the subject has what is the "best", and that solicits just opinions which every one of us will have to offer. The OP can sort out what is "best" for him/her.

My iMatch rarely is removed from the tractor, as only a recently purchased rotary tiller doesn't "match" the imatch. Am looking to trade up to a tiller that does.

Whether the OP buys quality or gets by with chinese made, is up to him/her.

But be happy with what you have, nevertheless. :D

I am very happy with the IMatch setup, saves me alot of work changing implements.
