JD grapple/bucket prices?!

   / JD grapple/bucket prices?! #41
OK for what ever reason it seems that a particular person here is upset. I have come to the conclusion we all need a bit of background and education here.

Let's not beat around the bush here Julie/Christie/Gatorwoman. I'm that particular person.

Believe me Ms. Gator, there is no education that you can offer me.

First of all. Markham Welding was bought out by Christie Loflin in May of 2009.

True.

As far as Allen and Melissa they continued to work here for the past year and lets just note here that Christie (Former owner of Wild Cat Attachments) employed Allen at her former company.

True.

Thus stepping in here because of business issues to help them out in 2009. When it was found that they were part of the problem she had no choice but to rectify and move forward. At that time (Sept 2010) she simply replaced the office staff and hired two new guys in the shop, leaving most of the staff that was here pre Allen and Melissa!

Not true. Might I suggest to you that in the interest of not offending TBN members, you NOT even hint at anything negative about Melissa or Allan.

SO I am not real clear here why certian people seem to think our quality has changed.

Since you're not 'real clear', let me tell you why I KNOW, not think, this to be true.

1. Your fabrication and quality control is poor at best.

2. Your knowledge and attention to detail with regard to what equipment the attachments that you are profiting from are being put on, are abysmal.

3. Your 'service' is more or less 'lip service'.

4. You don't listen to direction on customers wishes re: shipping.

5. You have no comprehension whatsoever, nor are you willing to listen to an explanation, of how the Canadian Border works.

6. Christie, you don't return calls or emails, even when you promise you will.

7. Christie, you pass off responsibility to Nina regularly, leaving the poor girl in a pinch and forcing customers to educate her on what you and the customer have already discussed. Nina is very nice BTW.

8. Julie, you blatantly lied to me - tires and rims are NOT dangerous goods, nor are they class 250. Please Julie, go ahead and say you didn't do this. I have the emails. I suppose you accomplished your goal however, I did 'go away', sort of.

SO yes I do have to ask questions to our owner and the guys in the shop, but hey I can admit it!

It's good to pose questions, good for you. Generally, I pose my questions to the people that know what they're talking about. Several of us on here offered to help you girls out with QD choices, hookups, etc. We've seen NOT ONE question posed on a forum, or in a PM (to my knowledge). Several members have posted there concerns with you guys sending out the wrong QD's. This may seem like a small point, but YOU'RE INCOMPETENCE IS COSTING YOUR CUSTOMERS ADDED COST!!

The problem with the recent 3-point hitch was a simple misplacement of the attachment hole, yes it is fixable.

Untrue. The problem with the first one was gross misalignment of the peg that attaches to the quik-tach system, plus placing a ball hitch roughly 14" too high to EVER be able to move a tongue type trailer. The second one, first off, weighs somewhere around 200lbs!! I almost need my pallet forks to lift it!! Secondly, despite the sketch that I sent in before #2 was fabricated, the balls are AGAIN too high for a tongue trailer. Third, It doesn't fit my quik-tach, AGAIN.

You're right Julie, it is fixable. However, I'm now being offered a 3rd replacement of an implement that has NO MOVING PARTS!! I can fix it, I am capable, but that's what I paid YOU for!!

I have asked the party involved to contact us a few times and we have not had one phone call, just one email over two weeks ago with the complaint.

I am kind of a "Party" - I see you've heard of me. Most times I'm really, really fun, and I'll do anything I can to help a friend, until I'm lied to.

So you acknowledge that you received my email?? Good. Let me ask you then - why did you not respond for 9 or so days until I questioned you publicly to 'get your attention'?? Why was my initial email not enough for you to respond to me?? In there I asked you very clearly how you intend to 'make this right'. I didn't call, you're right. This was for 2 reasons. 1. Getting things on email appears to be important in interactions with you, as your word doesn't seem to bind you to much. 2. I've given up on you, it's not worth it to take years off my life arguing about a $400 implement. I'm already planning how I'm going to cut and weld the attachment to make it work. If I get the repair wrong, if nothing else I have some scrap metal. It is worth it to me however, to protect my friends from the same experience that I have had over the past 3 months with Gator.

I will say. This gentleman was very nice and seemed satisfied until I refused to ship a load of tires (???) for him from New York to Canada under our business name. I just really felt like it is not what we are here for and I could not find a cost that suited him so we decided to pass.

This is almost true. Thank you for your acknowledgment of my patience with you. However, at no time have I been 'satisfied' with the order. I'll be satisfied when I get exactly what I paid for. I did ask Christie to 'help me out' with shipping a pallet of turf tires for my machine in exchange for all of the troubles and delays that Gator caused me due to points 1 and 2 above. Christie agreed to this, stating "sure hun, we'll do anything we can to help you out".

I did not ask Gator to PAY for the shipping, only to arrange the shipment through your logistics company, as it would save me roughly 250% on shipping costs. This ended by Julie telling me that rims and tires are class 250/dangerous goods, and therefore they could not save me any money. When I challenged her on this (UPS, and a second shipping co. told me they were class 70) she stated that no, indeed they are class 250. When I pushed again, Julie 'signed off' on the deal that Christie and I had made, but ensured me that "Gator is here for all my attachment needs". Very PC Julie, very PC.

Did you "refuse", or did you "pass", or did you make up a BS line about shipping classification in hopes that I'm not educated on shipping classes and I would simply 'go away'?? Which is it??

Julie, you did not 'refuse', you lied to 'blow me off'. Lying is bad.

Did y'all know that although the US and Canada both speak English, there are some words that are actually different in Canadian?? PC translates directly to BS up here in the cold north, and yes, my tractor shed is an igloo.

Suddenly now we are not a reliable company?

Yes, I do see your 'unreliability' as rather sudden. It occurred in late August/early Sept of 2010, over the course of one business day, when the Markhams were told to leave. Just my opinion.

Here is what I can and will do. Jeremey has been refunded the entire amout of his 3-point hitch. I guess you cannot make all the people happy all the time. Sorry boys!

In light of your use of both future and past tense in this statement, I'll be checking my bank accounts to see what's gone on. If you have refunded me, thank you, but what I really wanted (like a little boy at christmas) was an attachment that fit to help me aerate and rake my pastures before the snow came. Oh well, there not your pastures, right girls???

Also, it's Jeremy, not Jeremey. You'd know that if you had read and responded to my email, or perhaps is you proofread your response. The correct spelling of my name is in the signature line - you know, the same spot as your signature line with your Garfield looking Alligator, and the word "Croc"???

As I continually state here. We are a good solid company and we plan to say a long time!

Where I grew up, one cannot declare oneself 'solid'. Only a third party can do that. Same goes for how 'hot' you are, and how intelligent. Often times ones 'solidity' or 'hotness' (i'm well aware that those are not real words, thank you), is quantified by a pat on the back from someone who knows, a degree, a diploma, or a modelling contract. Buying out a company does not give you street cred, at all. It's running said company well that does that.

We will go to any lenghts to make sure you get what you ordered in a timely fashion to ensure you can work and complete the job as needed.

It's now almost 3 months since I paid Gator, in full, for my order. I've outlined the problems with the 3pt above, and as I've said elsewhere, my grapple and snowblade haven't even moved yet. Please keep your fingers crossed for me, boys.

I am sure we will make a mistake as we all do but I also assure you we will get it fixed, to the best of our ability.

I've heard similar words directly from the mouths of Julie, and Christie. I've not seen them backed up.

It's true that we all make mistakes, me included. What we don't all do is lie. That's the big kicker here, at least for me.

Ah yes, the 'best of our ability disclaimer'. Such a common sentiment in today's society. Funny thing, I never heard that out of Melissa's mouth?? Huh.......go figure.

YES WE WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO COME PICK UP IN PERSON AND THERE ARE 5 GATOR GIRLS AS I AM BUT 1 OF THEM.

I wish I could. That would prevent you sending things out as three separate shipments, despite being told not too, to avoid duty and brokerage at the border.

Sincerly Christie Loflin -owner, Julie and all the Gator Girls
Here is a picture of our owner!

I'm confused. Who wrote this?? Christie?? Julie?? If it's signed off as written by Christie, why is there a picture of 'your' owner?? Christie, do you talk about yourself in the third person, like that guy from Seinfeld did??

Girls, I supported you, I recommended you to many members on TBN, and actually to a JD dealership in Regina!! I was patient with you in your initial fabrication error. I was even reasonably patient with your inability to take direction on how the border works. I've had enough. I'm a paying customer, and I deserve reasonable service after placing (and paying for) a $3600USD order. I don't deserve to be 'blown off', and I will not stand for being lied too. I will not be made to look like a fool to my friends/acquaintances on TBN that I directed toward your business.

From my side there is perhaps a small glimmer of hope for reconciliation here, but I'm gonna need a formal apology for lying, a promise (an actual promise) that you'll return my calls and emails, and a 3pt attachment that fits. I look forward to, and thank you in advance, for your timely response.

-Jer.

ps - not to end on an aggressive note but I feel I must. Before you get any ideas of legalities, let me assure you, my lawyer does international law, too.

The following is my response to 2 of Julie's posts earlier today. I've brought them together to make for easier, more concise reading, for TBN members.

POST 1:

Jeremy. Yes they are the same. The only thing that has changed here is the staff. Everything else is the same. If your not happy I asked you last week to call so we could make you a satisfied customer.

Why was my email not sufficient Julie?? Is that not a valid form of communication in 2010?

It really is unbecoming to try and discredit us here.

You're doing it to yourself Julie. You're backhanded and snide remarks are unbecoming. I have fairly thick skin, so I don't really care, but remember that sassing off your customers in front of other potential customers is generally bad for business.

AGAIN, when you order special items over the phone sometimes you make mistakes which we all can do.

AGAIN - I SENT YOU A DRAWING!!!

Please call us and we will be glad to replace or fix what is needed to make you happy.

See my offer for reconciliation above.

By the way we have been Gator Attachments since May of 2009. Guess someone forgot to tell you.

No Julie, I knew. I noticed the website change. I didn't notice a service or quality change until Melissa and Allan left though.

I ran into a nice man at the airport in Minneapolis a few weeks back, I've been told more than you'll ever know.

Thanks
Julie- Gator Girl

No, thank you.

POST 2:
Yes we are. There is a running joke here that they all originated from one. Either from a divorce, or someone employee starting there own. LOL . Not sure why that is.

There's no LOL'ing here Julie. I'll tell you exactly why people think Christie's purchase of Markham welding was secondary to a divorce - IT'S BECAUSE SHE MENTIONED HER "EX" and their previous fabrication shop in her letter to TBN members!!

I to work here and most of us are family. Even the previous staff that was here worked for our current owner at her previous company

It's nice that you all get to work together. Please google the root of the phrase "Bob's your uncle".

You know the sort of industry if someone gets upset they can go down the street and go to work for the competition.

Perhaps like an ex-wife might try to do to an ex-husband?? Aren't all free market businesses this way??

Let me know if I can be of service to you. I am new to this industry as I have a background in buying for the healthcare funiture industry. Wood products so I am learning alot! But it has been really interesting to say the least.

what a can-a-worms.. I was just trying to break the tension.. sorry..

   / JD grapple/bucket prices?! #44
I'd have them modified by adding the quik tach plates. Reason being is that adapter push the grapple (or whatever attachment) farther away from the pins, thus decreasing curl force.

You can get them from Deere - look on the part finder under your loader. There something like 50$ a set and need to be welded on.

-Jer.

I didn't realize that. Looks like adding an SS adapter to the loader is not the best option then.

As I understand it, the 305 loader includes the JDQA option already. So there would be no need to buy a part for the loader. I guess I would just need to make sure that any SS attachment I buy is modified to work seamlessly with the JDQA . These are the "plates" you are referring to, right? Ted did say that this was something he could handle. I'll probably let him do it since I'm not a welder.

Thanks for the clarification.

WOW JER! Need some anger managment there. Sorry that I offended you and your friends Allen and Melissa. As far as the buyout, why do you think there was one. DO you think that things were so well with them that they just wanted to sell their company one day? I am not questioning their knowledge, yes they were great at understanding the product I was simply stating they came to Christie to buy this company.

Again I did not intentionally lie to you. I was told that the tires were considered an hazarddous material and CONWAY told me that. We are not frieght dealers here so if we were misinformed I apolozize. It became to big of an issue that we did not have time to deal with. Not clear on why you insisted to ship with us when your rate was already better than ours. What you dont realize is we were in negotiations for our frieght companies about our FAK's which had not been correct with the Markhams. Thus yes it could have been wrong and I only passed along the info that ConWay provided me.

Thanks, just for the record, Nina is Christie's daughter and is very intelligent!

I will get your refund to you as soon as you respond to my email I sent you.
I am not here to argue with you and we will do what is needed to get you satisfied if you will just let me know your preference. Refund or you can call me personally.

I did sign the former from Christie and all of us here at Gator. We are only trying to make it right and dont feel your being fair by slamming us on here for future customers just because your unhappy with a specialized piece that we are trying to make right for you.

Funny after that entire comment you still want our 3 point hitch.

I will be waiting for your call as to what you would like for us to precede with.

Are you talking about the "hooks" and "pins" used in the JDQA? They can be made easliy from CAT3 pins and 1 1/2" angle iron for the hooks. But here are the part numbers anyway:

W47211 PIN, BUCKET

W43359 HOOK, BUCKET

You'd have come off better if you would've omitted these two comments.

However, I read the whole thread, & if I were buying a grapple or other attachment, I'd consider Gator. One guy has been done wrong & even the attempted corrections are going poorly. That happens once in a while - A transaction that gets fouled up & you just can't seem to get it corrected.
