.... It takes a lot longer to cut through a peice of 2x4 HW tube than it does to MIG the last cutoff in place.

Sounds like you need to change to a stick welder, so you aren't waiting on the bandsaw![]()
HF bandsaw (Horizontal/Vertical Metal Cutting Bandsaw) is cheap, but it does the job. Buy good blades and do a little tweaking now and then and it works great. Cuts everything put on it. The chop saw sits on the shelf and watches.
Its 25% off thanksgiving day also. I don't use HF power tools as they are usually underwhelming on the power side. Their impact sockets however are 1/3 the cost and I have yet to have one shatter or not fit.
Question for Bob, I have a HD Dewalt Chop Saw can I replace the abrasive wheel with a dry cut blade to convert it or are they totally different animals?
