Nice. Wish I got a Raptor (or any pickup for that matter) as a G-ride.

My local dealer has a special Colts addition Raptor on the lot. Its a cool truck with great looks but lacks in payload and towing capacity compared to a standard F-150. For the work the Feds ordered them for there is nothing better on the market so I am sure they will enjoy them.

Wouldn't surprise me to find they paid MORE to have the leather deleted!
I've worked in a field with fleet vehicles for 30 years...I've seen invoices where extra was paid to delete a standard stereo in favor of just a radio:cool:

When I worked for MegaMotors, the post office bought a bunch of our minivans, which came standard with air conditioning. We actually had to design and tool up an idler pulley to replace the A/C compressor. Every time I saw some poor guy sweating away in one, I thought - if they only knew.

Sure there is, it's called the Dodge Ram Power Wagon. :D

They would have a better suspension, better off-road ability, stronger all-around truck, higher payload, higher towing, a much smaller more fuel efficient engine that produces almost as much power (383hp/400lb.ft vs. 411hp/434lb.ft.), cloth interior WITHOUT a special order, 12k lb winch, a better warranty (5yr/100k vs. 5yr/60k) and all this with a starting price of OVER $3,000 LESS THAN A RAPTOR.

Plenty of government officials already know how great they are:

First off the last thing they need is tow rating or payload. They need something that can run across the desert chasing down illegals at high speeds. The Power Wagon would not last a year.

The Power Wagon is a neat Ranch Truck but not cut out for this type of work, just like the Raptor is not cut out for Ranch Work.

I swear, you and Builder must be related. He is so GM focused and you are Dodge crazy. You would never admit if something else was better at anything.

in short you missed the point.... (like chris said)

they need a stock something as close to this as possible

And that's probably what they THINK they're getting but the Raptor is just like every other truck SVT put together and that is a SHOW truck and not a PERFORMER. That truck is nothing more than a garage trophy and will die a short death in any real off-road endurance. Luckily the government has the money to keep them fleet maintained and replace all the broken parts.

Comparing it to anything more than a show truck is a joke.
