I just watched your you tube (strobe lights) , very nice  I'm in the planning stage of doing some type of strobe lights on mine , they look sharp and just maybe keep someone from hitting you . Again good job .

4shorts, you have WAY too many lights, but I love it!!! (a weather station & voice recorder :confused2:) You said that you replaced the incandescent lights with LED's, but they still look like halogen bulbs...

Sweet setup and really like all the lights. I am just glad we rarely need something like that around here(today is the one in 10yrs).

Thanks. I enjoy our winters. I need to open the 500 foot lane to get to my business plus I have some pretty good snow clearing contracts just across the street from me so they basically pay for the tractor and I end up getting my snow clearing done for free. Good deal in my mind :) Thanks for posting!

It's a 45 minute drive from my town to the city. We have about 15000 people who live here and some of them work in the city. Well when 6 AM comes it's like the Daytona 500 on the main street here and guess where all my snow clearing is carried out. Yep, on that main street. I've had so many close calls I can't even count them all.
I can now say for a fact that since I added the lights vehicles actually slow down and move out of my way so it's a cheap fix for a potentially expensive problem. Better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for posting and be sure to show us your set up when you get'er done.

Voice recorder replaces the note pad that I can never find  and I like to know just how cold it is outside. Got to get the snow pushed before it melts. If it melts I don't get paid

I may have unintentionally misled some when I made the video. I meant the lower running and signal lights have had there bulbs replaced with LED's. I've now embedded a note in that section of the video to clear up the confusion. Thanks for posting.

These look good and the amperage draw is low so the need for relays is minimum.
I am looking at mounting two sets one frt, one rear and I think two switches and I still think the main power wire fuses should be close to the battery.

Moving snow in the last few storms I thought extra strobe lights would be a good idea and the LED will be a plus.

I will be contacting these guys soon to what I can do, their pricing looks good too.

The best money I spent on the tractor is on safety lighting. I just added two more strobes to the blower so I can be seen better side on in the rear. I recessed them so they couldn't be hit with the snow.

Though well intentioned I can't help but think you maybe inadvertently creating as much hazard as you wish to reduce.

Glare- A bright light source in a person's field of view can reduce their ability to see other objects. The effect may be exacerbated by rain, windshields, or eyeglasses. The study distinguished between "disability glare", where a driver may be temporarily blinded and unable to see hazards in the road, versus "discomfort glare", which is a more general effect from lights which may cause motorists to avert their eyes. The worst effects for disability glare occurred with amber beacons, strobe beacons, and especially bright lights.

Have you ever heard the phrase " Err on the side of caution"? Google it. When I'm out on the open road dealing with traffic I'm much more visible with these lights making a dangerous situation safer. That's my take on it and you will not convince me otherwise!
