I wanna say my first 146 only had zerks in the rim. My GT and the other 146 have them only in the center hub.

I always assumed they changed the rim design to the hub after some front wheel bearing failures, but who knows.

If its less than 5", its gotta be a 48" then.

A piece of advice from the guy who sold me my two YCM's after rebuilding both (and having to source each part with no part numbers), don't cut wet grass with them, ever. I would assume that's why he had to rebuild them both.

Well spent some time this evening cleaning up my new ride. Bad news....had it idling for a good while and noticed the smell of antifreeze.....no leaks on the ground...hoses look good....then I saw where it was seeping from one side of the head......I was cleaning the mower at that point so I went ahead and washed down the motor since I figured I was going to have to replace the head gasket (only that, if I am lucky)....the motor was running as I was cleaning.....and I left it running another 15 minutes or so as I dried it off.....no more seepage??? Did the motor getting hot swell enough to stop it?? I am guessing once it cools down it will start leaking???

Big question is "How did I miss this when I was inspecting it???" The old saying is wisdom comes from experience....after repairing this one...I will make sure I check for leaks on the next one...

I am going to check it again tomorrow.....I think the mower has set up for a year or more ...from the looks below the head I am guessing this has been an on going problem...lack of paint and rust in the area makes me think that.....

Wouldn't you know....just finished ordering from Hoye today all the filters and a manual and now I got to go back and reorder....

My projects are never easy!

Not cool. I hope head gaskets are still available for them... Never looked.

If Hoye doesn't, try Jamiesons. He owns a gt and may have squirreled away some stuff.

Is the GT and 146 the same mower?? Do the parts interchange??? Asking just in case I find a donor along the way......

Have an email into Hoye ....will call Jamieson if they don't have it.....

the YM146,YM14 and GT14 are the same, the YM142 i also think is still a 2cylinder whereas the YM122 and 126 are 1 cylinders. the frames and sheet work are all the same.even all the holes are in all the panels to suit all models and country codes. i have a YM14 which is the same minus the hydraulics(dunno why they decided that, but anyway) if you need info on something i have the complete manuals including the 1cyl models.

Correct. All the same, but Ive never seen a 142. I know they made them, just never saw one.

Thanks Neat...good info.

Another question....my rubber bumbers under the seat are really big....about 3-4" tall.....can you send me a pic of what yours look like....I suspect these are just some the po replaced with what was available. the frame on my seat is broken from where the rear is too high and putting too much pressure up front....I want to put the right ones on if it is different. thanks

Good news...no problem on head gaskets etc....

Sweet! Good to know about head gaskets and such. How much $ if you don't mind me asking?

I could theoretically get my GT14 up and running again then... :D

I ordered a rubber bumper set for my first YM when I first bought it, from Jamiesons. They should be yellow and about 2" tall. I can get pics when I get home.

Those bumpers appear to be all the same, at least for the YM1400 And Ym2000 on the Hoye site. You could always cut them down, or as I did, swap them for a set of generic exhaust manifold flange springs, 1 1/2", at any parts store. Install with a fender washer and screw a rubber table leg boot on the end to protect the seat. Works great.
