I am looking at purchasing a 1997 Power Trac PT-2488 does anybody have anything to say about this particular model? Its an 88hp izusu diesel with approximately 1100 hours on it. I spoke with power trac and they informed it is is the largest one they built. It is a very reliable model from what Terry told me. Is there anything anyone else can tell me about it other than what I already know?
Thanks in advance.

Never ever heard of this machine. And there it is on CL.

looks like a 1460. Do you know how much it will lift.

the price is very, very right

I would buy it if it looks well maintained.

I actually think Im gonna pass it up, although Ill never find another like it... I don't have the money to shell out right now as I just checked the compression on my 1958 Massey MF50 because it was running right and found 110,113,65?,112... I think its due for a complete rebuild it has 5600 hours and has never been rebuilt so I think its time... If anyone is interested let me know. Ill give you more info on the power trac.

It has a hydraulic flow of 18gpm and 3000psi, and from what I hear the 90hp Isuzu diesel is nearly indestructible. Im pretty bummed that I wont be able to buy it. I believe it has a lift of more than 2000lbs.

The link is POWER TRAC WHEEL LOADER in case any else is interested. Hopefully it generates some interest for the current owner. The price is a steal.

If I had the money, I'd be all over it. Make an adapter for skid steer attachments and get serious about tearing stuff up...

Interesting...! I often have a 'go big, or go home' attitude, but that PT2488 just may be too much tractor for residential country use...! (You won't drive over the septic system with that one...! Not a big deal though.)

Someone who has the appropriate need should do well at that price...

Haha, I would use it on my farm, but I would also use it on my family's cabin in the Catskills for brush hogging if I could of afforded it. Oh well =/ And yeh its very heavy from what Terry told me.

Very tempting, but way too much for 10 acres.

When I talked to Terry about it the other day, I believe he said it is from the early 90's, 2500 lbs lift, that they made about 6 of them, that it was a very nice model, and I believe it has a 3 pin latching mechanism for attachments. That is a lot of HP for 2500 lbs of lift. If it was 4-5000 lbs, I would be tempted.
