my two cents,

Since it sounds like no other Massey dealers within driving distance...with the mmm and other items, price sound ok.

At the Massey dealer, was the "add on costs" from a salesman, the owner, or manager. I went through that once with a local dealer's salesman and since then I deal with the owner and get better prices without "add ons" popping up. I would ask for free delivery. The filing fee sounds a little high, but the cost for 0% is not 0%.

The R1 tires will give you more traction than the R4 industrial tires. The R1's on the GC are a nice design. Anyway, there are a lot of posts on that topic. You sound right that he doesn't want to order any in.

The one advantage with the Massey is the engine displacement is larger and has lower rated RPM's. The Kubota has a couple advantages points likewise...resale is one you pointed out.

The 10" BH bucket on the Massey is a little deeper than the Kubota, but in either case, for what you outlined you may want to consider the 12".

You can get after market thumb for the GC that will bolt on and order yourself along with a toothbar.

Good luck on the decision!

It was the owner that pulled that surprise add-on stunt.

Thanks for the other info.

Do you have a make/model number on the bolt on thumb that works for this GC?

I talked with some other dealers (out of state) since coming back home. The most any of them charged for 'paperwork' fees was $70.

SrChief, I advised that I would look at a Kubota B2320 with TLB Package, 60 inch MMM, and 54 inch rear box blade, and R4 tires.

I have a BX 23, with my set of bar tires put up in the garage, and have not look back after putting R4's on it. So even though it sounds good on changing tires, and its easy to do with air wrench, and FEL and BH out rigers, you will do it a few times, and say to heck with it.

Also on BX25 or MF get a 12 inch BH bucket. On bh 65, 12 inch, or 16 inch bucket.

Good advice and good alternative machine suggestion Troy57.
SrChf, I sent a p.m. with some of the info.

More thoughts, the tires on the B2320 are just a little smaller than on the the other two B2X20's, and the BH 65 has a manual thumb that can be ordered. Its great to spend others peoples Money.

I think either machines are great. I just settled on the GC2610 because of comfort, price and stronger hydraulics and ease of changing the hydro fan( I do alot of brush work) I could replace the fan myself easily on the GC, not so on the BX from what I learned here. I did comparisons between the 2 and chose the GC. The BX is a strong machine too, personal preference. Either machine will surprise you. Good Luck!!

The main reason I chose the GC2610 over the BX25 is the loader capacity is higher, and I still wish I had more. I also found the driver's area to be a bit roomier.

Th GC has a few advantages over the BX, sad to say since I have the BX and my neighbour has the GC....
Having the 3pt always attach to the tractor, even with the bachhoe on... this is a big plus for the GC. The hydraulic flow/pressure at low RPM ,is much better on the GC.
We make all the same Thumb/Ripper for the GC.

Ok fellahs - big turn of events today.

The local BX dealer called me wanting to make one last dying breath offer to get my business. I told him it would be a tough sell as I had already made up my mind that the GC2410 seemed better suited to meet my needs and the 72mo financing made it all easier pay. I did concede that his dealership was 30 mins away vice 2 hours away (and internally, I was not a little annoyed at the GC's shenanigans of adding $450 worth of paperwork and delivery fees at the last minute - so the BX dealer had my attention though I didnt let on too much about that.) I used the good ole, well, make me an offer I cant refuse and we will see what happens.

here is what he came back with:

BX25 TBL w/ Bar Tires
3PH
12" BH Bucket
60" MMM
Turf Tires
BEFCO 48" Box Blade (Kabota Orange)
Wallenstein thumb
Toothbar, mounted
Free Delivery
$50 UCC Fee
And...get this...0% financing at 72 months (for no extra money)!!
For...drumroll
$19,400
Making it a payment of $286/Mo. + 16.00 insurance

as opposed to
the GC2410 w/ all the same stuff BUT NO Thumb (and a wierd faded yellow non-color-matching box blade. lol), a 10" bucket and $800 more ($20,280)

So I gotta wonder. What is going on here? Do tractor dealers have end of the month quotas like car dealers?

I still admit, the GC seemed to be a better machine for me, but $800 better? - and a (maybe a little shady) dealer 2 hours away vice 30 ? Not to mention the possibility of maybe a better resale value on the 'bota?

So, needless to say, I had the BX dealer run my credit.

Thoughts?

you need to ask yourself, wich tractor do I really want.If it is the GC ,the $800.00 dollars would be worth it to me.over a 72 month period,$800.00 wont make much of a diff. in the payment.

I would also ask myself, wich dealer I feel most comfortable with.

my only decision at this point, would be the dealer.
