I agree with tkoza! Don't you own a Craftsman or an Agway for her to use? Like I've told my wife "you need some experience, you can't just jump on the biggest machine we own". After she dented the hood of the lawn mower, and bent the swing set leg, she hasn't bothered me about running the 2320.

My first house and I went straight to the 2320! She does have some experience though, she has mowed with my parent's 982 Cub Cadet.

OT, but the Cessna's I worked on in Vietnam (Army 0-1) had the 0-470 engine with a bit more HP than yours, but not all of them even had variable pitch props. The DeHaviland Beaver's I was trained on, but seldom worked on had the old R-980 P&W engines. All great fun, and I miss flying still sometimes though I was a mechanic, and not a pilot I did get a lot of stick time. The stick time was to give me incentive to tune those 0-470 engines, and especially the variable pitch props to give the pilot everything he could get when pulling up from a low speed flaps down smoke rocket run. Often the guys on the other end of the smoke rocket run usually didn't want us hanging around putting smoke down for the Navy jets to see, and 45-50 mph seems pretty slow by the time you get close enuough to fire. Here is one I mounted an M-60 machine gun on, and I thought you might enjoy.

After a few months or a year she will be saying something like "I wish you'd have told me all the great things this tractor could do for us, we'd have purchased one years earlier!". THEN she's ready for the upgrade bomb. A new 2520 is really just what you need now.

Yes, I'm sure she will see all of the benefits of this machine. In fact, I just received the pallet forks from Artillian (thanks Chris!) and the tractor should be here tomorrow. I have a basketball hoop to erect and I'm hoping to use the tractor to aid in the lifting of the 60" 3/8" glass backboard, it's pretty heavy. They recommend at least 4 helpers, I think a tractor and 1 helper may do.

I'm already a bit jealous of the bigger tractors, but this is plenty big for my property and use. I think the 2305 is the biggest I need for 1.5 acres in my sub-division. It has to be practical for my mowing needs.

I've never even owned a new car so a new $20K tractor has me giddy like a girl! I know I will want to take a "victory lap" around the neighborhood, but don't want boast. :laughing: There are several unsold lots that aren't mowed very well, maybe I'll just cut along the road and clean it up a bit.

Yep, Moissanite, I believe I have browsed there in the past. I better start saving my extra change! I don't completely get the diamond thing. At least the tractor is functional. What would she say if I said I wanted a $20K tractor just to park in the front yard for decoration? Oh well, as I've said, she's waited patiently letting me get all of my "toys" so I guess it's her time and she well deserves it! :thumbsup:

A 60" glass basketball backboard weighs just about 100lbs. The 2305 & forks are going to help you redefine "heavy." :) Just be careful when you start moving anything that's heavy for the 2305.

re: moissanite. My wife calls all such things "shiny rocks." All I've got to do is buy her a rare tomato and build a raised bed for her to grow it in.:thumbsup:

I believe you are correct on the weight of the backboard, only heavy if trying to lift and bolt into place. I plan to ease into the lifting and testing the limits of the tractor. I can't afford to do something stupid, my wife may then fail to see the benefit of the tractor!

Great pictures! I know we are off topic but... I still use the 470''s in my cessna 180's. Although now they are IO-470's. Great engine that can take a beating and not chew cylinders! My beaver was a radial when I bought it. When the engine ran out I sent it to wipaire for the turbine conversion. It has a 750 shp Pratt and will cruise at 150 knots on floats... It is like flying a helicopter off the water...

With the sand on the firebase we were getting 250 -300 hours on the Cessna engines when serviced according to the book. I had the crew chiefs changet the oil every day, and we started turning engines in wtih 1200 hours on them.......
