Funny thread. Most of us showing off our zippered spines.

Anyhow, we bought our tractor back when the wife was working (only way we could afford the payments), so she says it's HER tractor. I've kidded her back about "since I pay the house note" that she "can sleep in the dog kennel out back on her tractor."

Sorry for going off track on you. I have enjoyed the thread, and sure hope you get a chance to share that tractor some. If there isn't total accepance of it, at least it sounds like there is understanding, and that goes a long ways towards a happy household. Have fun with it. I was out in my woods with mine today puttering on my trails, and am so happy that I got past what the thing cost, and bought it anyway. You, and your wife will find the same thing.

I made sure I financed this one in my name only, I'm self-employed so I wasn't sure if I would have any problems. Once my wife found out her name wasn't going to be on the note, she eased up a bit. I pay the mortgage, my personal expenses, insurance, business expenses and now the tractor. My lovely wife, who makes more than I, pays for everything else. We've always kept our finances seperate. It's easier to keep track of things. It's also easier for me to by toys. She doesn't know about my new Artillian pallet forks or what they cost! :D As always, she will ask about them someday and as always, I just reply "I've had that for a long time". Don't know why that works, but it does.

It generally doesn't take long for everything to work itself out regarding my purchases. We all know the value of a machine like this and the wife will see it too, especially when I work on something she wants done. :) I've been so excited to get this thing I can't hardly concentrate! 4 weeks sure seems like a long time, I sure hope it shows up tomorrow, I have plans for the weekend!

That's why we have sheds and garages. Get it home during the day, put it in the shed, let it see the light of day a few months later. When she asks, point out something you already did with the toy - er, tool. Works every time.:D

Talked to the dealer this morning, the first thing he said was "are you getting excited". Well, I was posting to say it is coming this afternoon, but as I was writing this, my wife was on her way out and called me on her cell and told me the guy just pulled up! I just mowed a bit, the deck sounds great. I can't seem to get it to stay raised in the locked position. I'll have to look at it later. I also used the backhoe to dig my first scoop of earth. I have to say, it's pretty darn cool. I'm so excited I'm almost shaking, can't hardly wipe the smile off of my face! :D I have to run and get some fuel, they delivered it nearly empty, I was hoping for a full tank.

Unfortunately, I can't have a shed in my neighborhood, that would make it much easier! The tractor will be in the garage, but not much room for the implements.

There are a lot of threads here about the 2305 decks. Once they're set up, they work right with no problems. Setup can be a bit of a challenge. A few things to look for right away:

When the deck is fully raised, the position knob should be able to spin 360 degrees without hitting a stop. If it doesn't you need to lower the lift arms a bit.

The position knob should be perpendicular to the floorboards. If it's tilted you have a loose bolt underneath (you don't have to remove the floorboards) but it needs to be tightened.

The position knob should only be turned when the deck is fully raised. Raise the deck, set the knob, lower the deck. That's always the correct sequence.

Any questions, just ask. I just finished adding a 62C to a 2305 that had never been set up for mowing and went through the whole installation beginning to end, so it's fresh in my mind.
