How to follow water pipe?

Someone please tell me again why it takes two wires or a stick to do this trick. While looking at a video You Tube, a fairly old man was using a single stick, and when he felt the power, the stick whipped up and down like he was beating someone. Again, do you think this is magnetism, or spirit related, or just plain old funny feeling.

An analogy here, when they beat my butt as a kid, I hollered because it hurt, and sometimes I hollered to make them think it hurt. They did not know for sure.

Why so many different types or wire, and different types of sticks, and why in a crowd, everyone can do it except for one person.

Does every one of you that say they can find things, have 100 % success, or 50, 0r 25 %. Is that good enough to lay claim to the power?

It would be worth a vacation to me to see a group of dowsers work their way through a large field of different kinds of pipe, like PVC, galv, tar paper, clay pipe, and wire , aluminum, copper, steel, and septic pipe, even French drain, and maybe even a grave, and of course WATER, and tell us how deep, how pure, how wide and which direction it is flowing.

You have to ask yourselves, what is going on here for this to work. About all one can get out all of the claims is that it just works for me and my friends, and they tell me that I could do if I just believe.

I think I will try finding my PVC sprinkler lines tomorrow, even though I know where they are. I am assuming the only trick is to bring some belief into the equation. Now, I have a selection of brass rods, copper rods, welding rods, aluminum rods, fiberglass rods, a Y branch off a plum tree. I have even thought of running hot water through the PVC and use an infrared gun to pinpoint the object.

You people that are religious, can you all do this dowsing thing and get away with it, knowing it was related to witchery? Would it be considered spiritual, wicked/evil, or just natural or un-natural science?

Well, I am going to keep trying, because I find it interesting and if it ever works for me, I will make a video and submit it to You Tube for everyone to see.

Had some time this am before I set the net so had to try.

Results with stainless rod that I had for making lid hooks nada, nothing over my water and 24v dc electrical lines.

Took a couple feet of romex n stripped it and walla!! it showed me where my pvc water line was as well as the elec was of course I already knew. I then tried it over some dry pex I just buried for heated beds and nothing there.
Had a little fun anyway.

Lol, it must be a common ailment, been guilty of that myself quite often.

Ever since I said "I do" I've had trouble hearing as well. Wonder if the conditions are related? If so, I only see one common factor

We decided many years ago that we were going to put in a shallow well at our hunting camp, after going over 20' on three failed wells an older fella that hunted with us told us he could put us on the water and that he would be back in a little while with what he needed, he stayed gone about 15 minutes and showed back up with a forked limb that he broke off of a tree or bush(not sure what kind) and milled around a few minutes and said start one right here, which was about 10' from where one of our failed wells had been driven. I was extremely skeptical and said I that I thought we were waisting our time, but they were all older than me and seemed confident so I went back at it and at 13' hit a stream that still pumps water today over 20 years later, coincidence? maybe, but it made a believer out of me. Some stories may stretch and grow through the years but not everyone who has seen some of these things work is a BS'er, some things just are what they are and can't be explained.

Don't tell that to all the scientists at the CERN super collider thing, they're looking for the GOD particle. Talk about non believers, the last people in the world I'd want to be in a foxhole with.

I ALWAYS have 2 wires in an "L" held in my hand with the long arm hanging over my index finger, the tail end rests on my the lower palm of my hand.

The wires don't whip for me, they just gradually move across each other. My hunch is that it as something to do with the magnetic fields in the earth...but that's just my hunch.

Don't know, I've had success with brass and copper, come to think of it, don't think I've tried others...no SS like the other poster...again, I used what I knew to work. Don't have a clue why some just can't do it....makes no sense to me either.

I agree, it would be fun. BUT I will not lay claim to depth, directionality, or any other descriptive element of what lies below the surface.

I do ask myself why, but don't have the answer, just hypothesis and speculation. I don't think you have to believe anything to make it work. I showed a guy (a skeptic) once how we would locate his lines, he tried and could do it also. He never tried it before and I did not coach him other than how to hold the wires.

I'll be anxious to here the results...as I posted earlier, walk with your elbows touching your sides, arms level, walk slow, steady and very deliberately, like your walking on eggs with out breaking them.

Yup I can...I don't have any internal conflict with the ability to locate sub-surface lines, and my belief in Christ.

Yup I can...I don't have any internal conflict with the ability to locate sub-surface lines, and my belief in Christ.

This is pretty much exactly my experience. I've only tried it a couple of times, and was skeptical myself the first time, but it makes a believer out of you in 0.0 seconds..

I do think there needs to be at least a slight flow of water through the pipe or ground for it to be obvious, the disturbance may be more subtle without that.

Like Skippy said, it may have something to do with an electromagnetic field caused by moving water in the earth, standing water (a pond for example) doesn't seem to have the same effect for me anyway.

As far as the sticks whipping wildly, I've never experienced that, nor have I used wood of any sort, just steel coat hangers. I suspect some of the "mystics" that do this for money try to put a magical spin on it to impress customers. I wouldn't be able to tell a witch-hazel tree from a spruce, so getting the right wood isn't an option for me.

Once we get some decent weather here (not gale winds and pouring rain) I'll ask Wife Productions, Inc. to get a video of yours truly seeking water. If nothing else it'll provide comic relief to most of you.
