I got the hydraulics and the wiring hooked back up today and added a little finnishing touch. After all was connected I tried it out and it would go up but not down! I rechecked my wiring diagram and tried it again still would go up but not down. I rechecked and thought maybe when I drew the diagram I reversed two wires so I switched them and ......NOTHING!!! :mur: so I switched them back and Wahla it works!!! It must have been a bad connection.
Well here are some final pics. I still have a couple things I want to do to it yet and will post pics as I get them done!
I still have not tested it with a load in it (other than my 175# but on it!!) and almost don't want to, it's too pretty to mess it up!!! :D
I am very pleased with the way it turned out. :cool2: :dance1:

Wow, very nice. Wanna sell it? Hey did you ever figure out the final cost?

Hey just a friendly thought with batteries comes hydrogen gas even with trickle chargers I would guess, wouldn't want all that great work to go hindenberg bang on you.. Maybe a couple breather holes at the top?
Really sweet project, shows lots of skill.

Carl, Evervthing has a price or so I've been told! :) So ifin I was to sell it I am sure I would require some rediculous amount for it!!
Thanks for the kind words tho. And no I haven't totaled it up yet as there are a couple more to-gets for it yet, but I am sure it is less than $500.
Along with not being a welder or painter I am not much of a book keeper either!! (much to my wifes chagrin!!)[

Thanks Kentium4, My brother in-laws Carmate hydraulic dump doesn't have any holes in it and it is a factory built trailer. My batery box doesn't have a seal on top so I think it will be fine. We have a buch of Cushman carts at the shop and all they do is lift the seat (batery is under the seat) when charging so they don't build up any dangerous vapors and go "hindenberg" and when I charge mine I will open the lid.

I am going to do a slide show on youtube and post it here in the near future so keep your eyes pealed for it!

Drum roll please...... and here it is the maiden dump of the Ken's Fab DT 2.16!! It dumped with ease and everything came out. It was only bark wood chips and some dirt but it was the first of anything dumped out of it.....except water!

I had to cut down a dead Elm tree this week so this is what was left after cutting, splitting it and having it stumped out. I also had to trim some branches from a Poplar tree and they are on top of everything else.

It all dumped out with none sticking in the bed.
I pulled the branches off before I dumped the wood chips because I wanted them on top of the pile behind where I was dumping.
Also that swinging tailgate worked great!! :cool2:

LESS THEN $500!!!!!!!!!? Unbelievable, it would have cost me twice that, just to build the box. Your right, I need to make a friend that works as a steel fabricator. It's no fun building something, when it costs you more then going out and buying it.
