Jerky LSeries 3pt Hitch Fixed

Maybe you can get Messick and your dealer together. Messick says they have never seen a jerky one and yours is the only one that has fixed one. Maybe they can sort it out and Messick can report back. :D

More seriously though, Messick is an active member of these forums so maybe they could help front the effort between us and your dealer so there are not 50 dealers calling them about this one issue. Hopefully Messick could translate dealer speak into something useful for us all.

Sorry for volunteering you, Messick, but that's what you get for being so popular!

Just think of all the proper adjusted valves you can sell!

That ain't all I'm sayin' ....... but it's in there somewhere ...... :D

..... and too much lack of info from someone who was able to get it handled ...

I don't think ya really wanna go there .....

What would make me happy is ..... exactly what I've pointed out now in three posts:

1. Get the actual part number used - so that someone can make an effort to try and see if the valve has gone thru multiple revisions.

2. Get the actual procedure used to adjust the valve properly, even if only in layman's terms (.... "ya hafta make sure that the snigglefritz orifice is 90 degrees from the outlet after ya adjust wop-a-doodle relief .....")

3. Provide the name and location of the dealer that was able to resolve the issue.

I'm afraid I have to say that I find the above to be a rather bizarre comment .... it's sorta like if someone posted a question in say, the Hydraulics forum, about adding a valve .... and then you came along and poo-poo'd anyone who replied ...... simply because they didn't own exactly the same tractor .....

My posts in this thread are motivated by wanting to see others with a problem get enough info that they are able to resolve it .... what are yours motivated by ?

LOL, lighten up.

Seeing this is an issue that only affects L-series, yeah I would expect comments from those with some experience in some form (owner, operator, dealer, rep, etc) with this tractor. Picking apart his statements is not helpful at all. He has given everything the dealer told him. What else can he do? He's asked the dealer several times.

I would not give the dealer's name. At most ask the dealer if they want to respond to this thread.

You are right. He will never have any peace.

Well bad news

So i went to the dealer to talk to the tech that worked on my tractor and well, he got fired this morning................

However i bugged the salesmen again to try to get more info on this and he it positive that its a standard L series valve. He said the ordered a new valve and installed it and the hitch was still jerky, so the tech tore it all back apart and checked the valve with his MIC's and said that it was a few hundred thousands of an inch out of kubota specs for how the valve spring should be setup and he reset it and it works like it should.

My thought is that these valves can work but the are touchy and kubota just cranks them out at an alarming rate and does not take the time to make sure they are totally adjusted properly and just eye ball it and slap them together and they all are jerky like we have seen

We need someone at a dealer to try to fix one of these valves like they did on mine and see what they deal is

Also if messisk says he has never seen a L series with a jerky hitch and he is a dealer , i dare him to post a video of this standard valves that he has on his lot with a box scraper hooked up to it, i bet they are not smooth

Thanks for the info. jokergerm.

Maybe someone we can still fill in a few blanks:

1. What is the part number for the standard valve on the L3800, since there have been several versions of this L Series valve? And is it compatible with the other L Series tractors?

2. What are the Kubota specs for adjustment? I'm wondering if they are in the WSM, I'm fairly confident the specs. in mine don't produce those results.

3. And if all it needed was an adjustment, why did they order another valve? I'm guessing lack of knowledge and experience with this issue?

4. And I still don't get, why does it seem like those results have never been accomplished before and or why haven't we heard about it on TBN?

...and the cover up begins... I'm surprised you got this far :D ....darn if you can't get this guy's name and have him get on TBN!!!! I'm sure we can get "good"... wait, no great information from him... wait my conspiracy theory is coming out again... I'm sure he will be hit by a car (or a tractor) crossing the street... tomorrow.

I will be surprised if you get anything more from your dealer... including the time of day.

My thoughts exactly however they did not know I was.coming and I just walked in asked some random girl if terry was working and she said he doesn't not work here anymore

Then I went back to the sales department to.talk to the other guy

Based on what I have gathered from the tech. I don't.think he knows what the internet is. He is a good old county boy that has been working in a tractor shop for the last twenty years

This is terrible news, possibly the only guy on the planet that can fix the thousands of tractors that have the bad 3pt. Well at least he can become wealthy in his own shop setup to only fix valves. I want in on that....

It's still okay guys. All we have to do is scour the region for a guy named Terry who knows how to fix tractors. How many can there be?

Joker, we just need to know what area of the country you are in to narrow our search. Lets go guys!!!!!
