Backhoe Trying to put BH back on

Clever idea and I'm sure it works. A bit more expensive than a tack hammer and rag though.

You are right BUT I've been there and done that AND I can afford it :)

I got these pliers from an ad in 'Farmshow' - they were around 35$ with shipping. They are fast and easy and make relieving residual pressure a painless deal - they have different sizes for different size couplers. Fit in CK-20 toolbox. ...... the tool works like a pliers to grip the coupler and you release the pressure with the screw. The address they give is George Waite, Waite's Tools, PO BOX 66, Atwood, Colorado 80722 The phone is 970-522-5696 .......

I have used the hammer method also and usually works fine. Once though, was in pasture and didnt have a hammer so i grasped the hose firmly in both hands and gave the coupler a hard shove into the back tire. That worked too

That is exactly what I have been thinking. Just grasp it firmly and shove it into some flat part of the tractor.

The male end is easier to deal with (as usual). Just about any flat surface will do. The problem that requires a special tool is the female coupler. I just keep a 1/4 inch bolt in my tractor toolbox and then hit it with a hammer or big wrench while positioning it against the recessed nipple. Works fine.

No web site for Waite's tools Atwood CO that I can find.

Is calling the only way to get this tool? I hate banging that male connector with a hammer, rag or no rag.

I hit it with a rubber mallet and that did not do anything. I have not had problems with the female side, since I keep a loop on those fittings when the BH is off and release pressure by moving all the levers, then removing the loop.

I am still baffled:confused2: here by Y'alls:) problems. On my Mahindra, just moving the remotes levers back and forth relieve the pressure.

I had the same problem with my backhoe. My cure was to purchase new male hydraulic fittings with pressure relief tip. My DK35 used Pioneer fittings - - - I went to TSC and purchased Pioneer 8010-4P-DC with relief. There is a small tip which relieves the pressure as you push the couplings together.
