Jerky LSeries 3pt Hitch Fixed

No I do not have the valve exploded view. That came from the L3800 Hydraulics Parts Diagram that I requested from Messicks website. It shows just about everything but not an exploded view of the valve. Can you share where your exploded view came from?

The MX5100 parts manual from kubotabooks (search for it) also does not have an exploded view of the valve, of which both the 104 and 105 valves were used. Maybe you have to buy the entire valve assembly?

I have a L2800/L3400/L3700su service manual and parts manual coming in a week or so.

I'll send the links to the videos to my dealer as well, there's definite improvement there. I'd be happy with the results, it's a lot better than the original.

Same place, but it was before kubota made them take down the "free" manual (that you could browse around). I saved every page for my tractor and loader in PDF then converted them to jpg's. That was a few years back. Took some time :confused2: but I thought it was worth it...

I skimmed through this entire thread and I am sure that I have just over looked it, but can anyone tell me what the going price is to just take my L2800 in and pay to have it upgraded or repaired so that the 3ph works smoothly. I bought mine used and I know I have no warranty or leg to stand on to get them to do it for free.

Thanks, Just got home with L2800 today and love the tractor but I am stricken with the jerky 3ph.

Well my friend, your really need to read the whole thread, and a few dozen more like it. You see that IS the problem, if we could just take them in and have them fixed, or for those of us under warranty have them fixed for free, we would. So far there are 2 tractors that we know of that have been repaired on this planet. We are learning more every day about this. My dealer is looking in to this. So are others. Kubota's official stance seems to be the problem does not exist. We shall see what comes of all of this. Now that we know that they can be fixed, and apparently with just adjustments, though exceedingly tedious adjustments by a skilled person, perhaps more will be fixed. As it stands now, there is no official problem, no official procedure, and no official concern.

Unfinished's post about the Kubota policy of this being "normal operation" is pretty accurate. When my dealer contacted Kubota Canada with my concerns, they were told that "this is the way they are supposed to work".

It's likely that Kubota is aware the problem can be helped by fine-tuning the valve adjustment, but they don't see the need since they're still selling these tractors hand over fist as fast as they can build them.

I'm still pushing to get the regional service rep to have a look at mine, but he's telling the service manager at the dealer that my point of contact is the service manager, and the rep doesn't usually deal directly with customers.

My point is this, since there is a marked difference in operation between different L series tractors, and an obvious difference in unfinished's tractor in the before and after videos, something obviously CAN be done to eliminate almost all the roughness. The time it takes and the cost of that time is the stumbling block for both Kubota and the local dealers.

Maybe there is an easy fix. It might be simply education.
Other brands of tractors don't have jerky 3points. Maybe we can cure this problem ourselves.

I was reading in my Kubota WorkShopManual (Kubota calls it a WSM) last night and looked up hydraulic adjustment. Guess what? Three point hitch adjustment is not covered in the Kubota WSM. The standard Kubota Model Specific WSM doesn't cover 3 pt adjustment. It says:
"Refer to Workshop Manual for Tractor Mechanism (Code No. 9Y021-18201)"

So I got to looking around in the manual and in the preface "To The Reader" Kubota says that only the construction and function are included in the WSM. For troubleshooting, disassembling, and servicing there are yet other manuals.

So if 3 pt adjustment really is the problem to jerky 3pts, my guess is that part of the problem is the information in these additional manuals is not common info to kubota mechanics. Maybe the manuals themselves are not well known. Does anyone have one of the "9Y021-18201" manuals they could share?
I think we can fix this,

Just looked up 9Y021-18201 on tractorsmart.com

WSM - Diesel Tractor Me: $201.65

And Messicks.com

WSM - Diesel Tractor: $202.65

Not a lot to go on as far as what to expect, kind of expensive without a preview.

Hmmm....I might have a problem and didn't know it:ashamed: The lever on my 3PT hitch control is so stiff that I cannot move it gently. When it moves it jumps 1 or 2 inches so of course the hitch/equipment jumps 2-6". Wonder if it can be lubed or new sleeves put somewhere.....

And that is just to get the correct WSM # that we need. "...For troubleshooting, disassembling, and servicing there are yet other manuals...." Wonder what those costs? Do you think there's a manual for each; one for troubleshooting, one for disassembling, and one for servicing? :confused2::confused2::confused2:
