Was you going to get some attachments with the tractor purchase? What brands let you finance them with tractor?

foreman Etexas,

I am planning to buy attachments, and I will finance them if they will let me (I have not asked that yet).

I intend to include the follwing with the tractor for sure (if I can).
teeth for the FEL bucket
welded hooks for the FEL bucket
2 rear remotes (not sure what I will use these for though)
Hard top on the ROPS (just for rain/shade)

My current plan to buy is the following attachments...

6' rotary mower (aka bush hog)
pallet forks (probably will buy used)
box blade
Jake rake (is that the right term?)

there is a long list of maybe's after that I am not sure of. The only thing I an really considering new is the bush hog.

The deal on the tractor is ending this month, I need to move fast on it, the rest can wait a short while...

Make sense? Am I crazy?

I have to admit that I am nervous.

This is a much bigger tractor/purchase than I originally envisioned a year ago when I bought this property.

I am a hard core fiscal conservative (sorry for injecting politics - please forgive me) but taking on debt even at 0% is scary and needs to be fully considered taking into account the economy, my family, and our financial situation in the big picture.

I need a tractor. I must steward over this land I have, and maintain the crop of timber, and clear the pasture, etc. I must. My wife teases me that this is my 5th Harley (6th actually, the 5th is a 14.5 hand b&w paint gelding named "Harley" who NEEDS a pasture so he can leave boarding). But she also fully supports this purchase and was in agreement with the go big or go home advice I got here.

I'm just nervous, and I felt I should admit that here. Tractors are not toys, they are serious tools for doing serious work (that just happens to be fun for some of us).

Truly I thank all of you who have posted to me here on TBN.This is a fabulous community and I hope I can contribute to it over time and follow the example you have all set.

I will post updates later today about the Kioti test drive...

David, FWIW,
"Final assembly in the USA" is pretty much the rule for all of them. It varies as to what that means, however. Typically, it means taking the tractor out of a shipping crate from the orient and bolting on a few parts and installing wheels.
Some do slightly more assembly (using mostly off-shore parts), some less.

To my knowledge, there is no tractor actually made here in the under 60 hp class. There's not much "Made in USA" factoring into the equation. It is what it is.

Is your place AG exempt?
Section 179 Deduction:
Total equipment cost:$27,000
Total first year deduction:$27,000
Cash saving on your equipment(assuming 35%tax bracket)$9,450
Lowered cost after Tax saving:$17,550
Ask whoever does your taxes this is new for 2011,should atleast have the Timber Exemption...

GOOD POINT!

I don't qualify for the state of VA as AG to avoid the 5% sales tax, but I DO manage the timber with my "S" Corporation and claim the timber production rules which at a minimum allow all my expences to increase my basis cost (therefore offsetting the eventual profit from the harvest in 5-10 years).

Not sure I can 179 it 100% with little or no income from timber/S-Corp this year, but I should be able to depreciate it over the term of the loan...

GOOD POINT!

The attachments I can likely 179 100%...

I feel better already!

Which Kioti dealer are you going to visit? Ashland or Mineral? If you like the Kioti, then I would visit both. Not a lot of time to spend to made a better decision. Good luck today.

Hey Neighbor!

I am just slightly North of Ladysmith...

Mineral quoted me MSRP. I'm headed to Ashland soon as the little lady is ready to roll (she is 2.5, she takes a while...).

I spoke with the owner, he was very nice.

OH NO!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

We already have had 500 threads on that issue and NOTHING ever gets resolved. :D:D

Ags are for dirt work. The best grip in dirt.
Industrials are for stronger, less puncture prone work, but less grip in dirt.

That is the conundrum and it is NOT solvable, no matter how many times it gets argued. They are different and since a tractor has to do many things, the owner just has decide which compromise he can live with. Period.
