Comparison B3200 vs. 2720 and which size Deck?
Honestly the 3PH lift capacity is ridiculous on the Kubota, both of these tractors will be at their maximum realistic and usable lift at around 1000 lbs. That 3PH lift is almost the entire weight of the tractor and the front would have to be so heavily counter weighted that the tractor would be coming in at 5 or 6 thousand pounds and probably blow out an axle.
Gee you wouldn't be biased toward JD would you ??:( Lift capacity is what it is from the manufacture, if you disagree that's fine but It still doesn't change the figures now does it?

For those of you who are not familiar with 2520 and 2720 rear end axle set up here is a picture. Instead of an axle coming out of the transmission the axle is attached to an external housing with a reduction gear.
Whoa, Thats the worst and skinny looking rear end I have ever seen on any tractor:D:D. Just glad It's on a JD.:laughing:

I compared the exact same tractors as you did and decided on the Kubota B3200 for a few reasons. First, I decided the 3-range was more important to me than the 2-range transmission that JD offers. Second, which was the biggest issue for me during my decision was the QTR turn vs. position control on the 3pt hitch. While there's no doubt position control wins hands down I didn't feel I'd need this option due to my needs. Most of my tractor needs is mowing and FEL work. I saw very little 3pt work in my future other than back blading snow. So, as much as I would have liked it the other Kubota features outweighed this option. Third, cost. In my quoting process Kubota was 2.5K LESS than the JD. Forth, Kubota financing was better 0% for 60mos vs 0% for 48mos. Fifth, I'm a big guy and the B3200 was more comfortable for me than the JD was. Lastly, I prefer the color orange vs. green :). Yes, JD has very solid features and both are very comparable on paper. However, when you look at cost the Kubota was cheaper than JD and based on this was my deciding factor. I'd still would have liked position control and this almost made me decide on JD but when I stepped back and asked if it was worth 2.5K more I then came back to earth. As for the Kubota brake pedals being on the same side as the HST pedals. I really never considered this a feature. I've owned 3 tractors in the past and never used or considered using the brakes to steer with.

I received my B3200 a few weeks ago and was able to use it to cut the grass. I was very pleased with the cut. The noise level was relatively lower than I expected. The ride was smooth and the quality of the Kubota was first class. So far I'm very happy with it. I would give Brady Barlow a call at Barlow's Farm Equipment and get a quote. He was very competitive and delivered quickly to my door.

Test drives tomorrow. Deere says the end of the fiscal year pricing and incentives were today. Supposedly new programs will come out Monday. That may help the decision. I got a firm Kubota quote just under $20k for B3200, 60" deck, FEL. Deere's best deal before negotiations sits at 21,500, I asked they re-work that number and firm it up. That was off the cuff.

Anyone know what kind of deals they usually do first of the fiscal year? I hope they at least match the 0% for 60.

Thank you for your thoughts so far guys! Homebrews for you all.

Not sure about the Deere, but you can still do better on the price on the Kubota. You should be able to get the tractor setup as you describe for under $19K if you shop around. Just as a reference, I gave 16,300 for mine two years ago with loader and R4 tires (and they haven't gone up in price much.)

Also,
When they stop negotiating on price, move to negotiating services... Free pickup and delivery for X years.... Free 50 hr service, free 100 hr service ... etc....

Have them load your rear tires for free....

Regards,
Chris

I paid a little over $19K delivered to my door about a month ago. I got the B3200, FEL w/60in bucket, Turf Tires, 60" mid-mount mower and 0% for 60mos financing.

You should be comparing b3030 to
JD 2027

Pto features are both independent

I have a b2920 with live pto "clutch"

Main difference is that you need to stop all forward/reverse travel before engaging/disengaging pto

Independent you can do on the go

Not a big deal but...

Deere just released their incentives today. They will be offering 0% for 60 mos. but the catch is the dealer has to subsidize 2.5%, so may be less flexible on pricing if you choose that program.

I drove a B3200 and a 2520 today. Both were nice. There are a couple features the Deere has I like more. If they can sweeten the pot a bit I am going green.

Thanks for all the info guys! I will be back with some photos in due time.
