Just put a soft cab on my tractor for snowblowing

I have two forward facing (on top) and one rear facing (underneath), but can easily change the forward facing lights to mount underneath as well. Your pictures don't have your lights yet, but I'm assuming the light shines through the rear and front window - you don't have any problem with light reflecting back at you?

The light that I have on the ROPS faces backward, I do not have any foward facing lights on the ROPS.
This will be my first winter with the snowblower and cab, I bought them last month. As for forward lights there are the 2 headlights and 2 side lights molded into the hood of the tractor, I hope this will be enough light.
If not I will add some to the side of the ROPS.

I've got to say,..I'm not super happy with the cab kit I bought. For the money I spent I could have built a real cab with with a metal frame, glass panels, etc. If it was less money say around $250-$400 I would be quite pleased. To pay $700 for what I got I think is rediculus. Basically a piece of plastic for a roof, some chintsy light gauge kink bent frame work pieces coated with primer, no paint & the thinnest cheapiest vinal material & window materials I have ever seen, terible black & white instructions, & allignment issues that caused me to have to drill new holes 1" off from the origonal ones,etc..
Sorry to rant negitive,..I thank God that I have a cab now but I was quite dissapointed. Upon pulling out the parts & looking at the directions my inital thoughts were "This looks like it was made in China for sure"
Even my 11 year old son who I told nothing of this was like "I think you paid too much for that,..it isn't even that great" :laughing: Oh well it does look pretty cool on there & will serve the purpose of keeping the wind & snow off me while I snowblow.:thumbsup:
In a couple years when the vinal is junk I'll use some of the parts or the ideas from how they built they'res & build my own & have a shop build me the vinal parts out of high quility stuff.

Bill, I did not have any problems installing mine. It bolted up exactly to existing holes. Did not have to alter anything nor didn't have to drill anything. Guess I should not have mentioned it to you. I'm well pleased with mine. It keeps me out of the wind and warm while plowing snow.
I'm sorry you are not happy with yours. I was more than pleased not to have to spend $2500 or more on a cab that will do the job. I highly doubt you could have built one for less because I had already priced materials to build one and including glass and it would have been almost $1600 plus taken a month to build.

Very interesting and a decent price.
My only issue would be the cold crack rating on the PVC windows, -22F/-30C. My temps are down at that level and lower for weeks every winter. It just would not survive past December.

I'll likely have to build something eventually.

I was looking at somebody's pics of an "original tractor cab" brand here on TBN. It looked like a pretty nice cab for what seemed to be a fair price. ($700 IIRC)

I have never seen one directly and don't know much about them.....but you may want to check into that brand.

I do not know what size tractor you have but I bought a 4 sided soft cab from Bercomac, for my subcompact tractor. I have a Cub Cadet/Yanmar
Sc2450. It was $671.39 with shipping.

Wow that's even worse. That thing is Ug-Lee. It's a tarp with some saran wrap.

Man, I'm glad I came back to re-check your first post. Would like to find a half-way decent but relatively inexpensive cab, so went out to Google to find the one you mentioned and wasn't having luck. Came back here to look again and saw your review of it. Thanks! I'll quit wasting time on that. :thumbsup:

Yeah I don't want to crap on it too bad but unless you have no time & no fabrication skills & there is no place near you that makes convertable tops & stuff, I would not buy it. I'd guess that for the same prace you could build something REALLY nice high quality.

Yeah I'm not mad at you George. It's like the saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" It just seems like a lot of money for the chintsyness of the kit. I just bought a nice car that needs a new brake line & &fuel line & is otherwise mint for $100. So $700 for this seems like a lot to me. Maybe it is because I have built so many things in my life & I know I could have built something better. Don't worry about it. Heck it may be good for others & I certainly like it & will appreciate having it this Winter,...just thought $700 was a bit much.
