My comment is typical media inflation of the facts..

They didn't have an 'arsenal' in ther motorhome, I don't consider a couple automatic pistols, a scatter gun and a six shooter and arsenal, for got the derringer...lol

These guys were from Texas and in Texas, that many guns is considered normal in a vehicle.

Here (in this country) I realize it's all about the Second Amendment and frankly, that's good with me.

One reason Canada can KMA. I don't go there anymore and like I said previously, I spent plenty of tourist dollars in Northern Ontario on hunts prior to the hoopla that now exists. I'll stay on this side of the border and spend my money here, like next year in New Mexico hunting Mule Deer.

I live within a half hour of the border and have no intention of ever crossing it again....

Well, it is the law in Canada...and they do ask you about firearms at the border (at least the mountie asked me when I crossed over a few years back).
Rather they had an arsenal or not, they did have loaded firearms and they didn't declare them...
Actually, I didn't think you could transport handguns through Canada at all. I knew long guns could be carried in for hunting though.

Reckon they should be glad it wasn't Mexico...their laws are draconian...one cartridge can get you jail time...

It goes both ways, unfortunately. The US border has been a hostile, humourless place since 9/11. Everyone's a terrorist.

One of my 20-year employees tried to fly to South America on a flight that went through the US. They turned him back, because he "was on a list" of some sort. Most harmless guy you ever met... and, no, not a drug dealer... Not the sort of guy who could afford another flight easily, either.

Nice people once you get there, but I plan to avoid border crossings as much as possible.

Wrong... Millions of loaded firearms in cars including mine. In my state Missouri, anyone whether they have a Concealed Carry Lic. or not may have a loaded concealed handgun in their car, as long as they are 23 or older and are not Felons. The laws vary state to state, and even by city in some places... Yes crazy patchwork quilt of over 20,000 gun laws.

Also if you have your Concealed Carry Lic, you can carry in many other states that have agreements with your state. There is a move to make it countrywide, but that may or may not happen, There are 49 states that allow Concealed carry, and I can carry in all but 10 of those and of course the 1 state that does not allow condealed carry. Ill. and yes that means you can have a loaded gun in your car, and on your hip, or in your pocket or whereever you want to stuff it..

That depends on state law...in Pennsylvania, I carry a loaded firearm on me almost all the time...however, I do need a firearms carry permit to do this.
Now, one of your neighbors, the state of Vermont, has no restrictions on carrying firearms (unless one is a convicted felon)...so all those friendly Vermonters you see across the border are probably armed to the teeth!

No...no loaded long arms in vehicles (in Pennsylvania...I don't know about other states).
