I read that originally - I thought it was a joke. Although I may ask if I really wanted it to be a surprise I would not expect them to - I thought the said he was kidding. Maybe not.

Well, I guess you could read #3 that way, but he never said shunned, and he did end it with a smiley face.

A customer has every right to shop around for whatever he or she is wanting, if someone wants a brand new 20 k tractor delivered on Christmas, I am sure sooner or later they will find a dealer willing to do so

I personally am working tomorow and it stinks. I won't get home til Tuesday. I don't think anyone expects a dealer to open on Christmas to sell a tractor, but to deliver one for a gift is a nice gesture. It is probably not much trouble either.

That is exactly the problem- NOT everything is about the way YOU see it.
Dealers serve their customers all year long - if they CHOOSE to take Christmas off that's their choice, not yours or anyone else's.
If you were a dealer you'd already know this.

It was simply my opinion ... I have never in this thread or anytime suggested if you don't see things my way, its the wrong way.

I am not a dealer...don't even want to be one. If I offended you ... well I am truly sorry.

Maybe I'll have a nice new 4520 with all the options showing up at my door tomorrow! - I'm not going to hold my breath though.

The wife is giving the gift of the tractor, and the dealer is giving the gift of a delivery on Christmas morning. Both are sure to be received as special. True spirit of the holiday. Giving!

I don't see it as being "open" on a religious holiday ... I see it as helping bring the holiday to the fullest by going the extra mile to make someone feel extra special on Christmas.

I'd do it. I also like the part of GIVING (get it), especially on Christmas.........HELLO!
I'd also show up with a camera. Just sayin!
