I have an update, and I have a question...
Update - Yesterday I added 4 metal T-Posts to the stressed out corners and I adjusted the fence line deeper into the uncleared area to keep the fence tight without cutting the ElectroBraid rope. I planned for 548' of electric fence, I put in approx 600' (I just used the whole spool of 1200', started at one end and doubled back). So the enclosed area is a little bit larger than I originally planned. I adjusted the fiberglass post locations to reduce sag in the line.
QUESTIONS! - The instructions are not very clear on wiring up the solar Zareba. The BLACK (-) post on the charger seems to run straignt to the grounding rod, and the RED (+) post needs to run to the ElectroBraid rope.
I only have one 1200' rope doubled back at the far end (to provide 2 lines on the fence). I presume I only need to connect ONE wire to ONE end of the rope. Right? O must I cut the far end and have 2 seperate ropes?
Grounding Question - The guy at TSC said I only needed one grounding rod because I'm not going very far. I have VERY wet ground. Where there are multiple wires/ropes it is advised to make one of them a grounded wire. I can cut the far end and make this into TWO seperate 600' strands. Is that what I should do? (I believe in effect then, only the top wire is "hot".
Thanks in advance,
David
