72 inch Rachet Rake on sale at TSC $199

I bought a 52" at the $299.99 a couple weeks ago. I redid my driveway with my BX 2660, FEL, box scraper and ratchet rake. The RR was great at hitting finish grade upon removal of the material, at the 1 1/2" base and the 3/4" finish gravel. The 1 1/2 took a little bit just due to the size of the aggregate, but the rake was up to the task and for leveling, outperformed the box scraper hands down. In total I did about 60 yds of material and have been grading/leveling the removed material into the yards low spots. Great piece of equipment at $300. For $199 I'd have it in a heartbeat. You do loose the use of the FEL while it is on, but I can have mine off the tractor in less than two min and back on in about 3. Buy one!:thumbsup:

AHNC, very glad to here it worked that good on the driveway. I am redoing mine with that geotextile fabric this spring. Really getting antsy now!

Picked up mine Saturday and used it oon my BX24 by angle strap from outer to iner holes. Ordered 14 ton of 3/4 Crushed concrete and spread it today with bucket, backblade and rake. two hours tops.
Great investment and may someday square eyelets for 48" bucket but no slip today pushing and pulling.:thumbsup:

BDAVIS you rock sir. You shold get a commission for all the Ratchet rakes you sold with this thread.

I got mine last night at TSC in Culpeper, VA and it was snowing like mad as I was driving there (like somebody did not want me to arrive). I had called 3 times during the day and the drive to make sure it was still there because it was well over an hour away. As soon as I arrived and paid for it the snow stopped.

As I was driving home I got a TXT from LstInThot that he had had one reserved at TSC Culpeper, VA and just as he was leaving to go get it, he called and they had SOLD it! Turns out he was going to go pick one up and offer it to me if I could not get out to go get one, and somehow I had managed to get my name on it AFTER he had his name on it.

All is well that ends well. I think he and I will mod it so it will fit his tractor also and of course he will have free use of it as needed!

Also, Honorable Mention in dispatches for AHNC! The idea of using it for final smoothing and grooming of the gravel driveway is almost all the justification I could EVER need for this purchase! I will be testing that out ASAP also!

Anyone (other than the company that makes it) have any pics or videos of the rake actually in use?

I am considering making one since my local TSCs are all sold out. I just want to SEE what it is capable of before I fire up the plasma.

Well I got it. Tried it on on my driveway for a few minutes. It is much more aggressive that I thought it would be. Even on float it brought up a lot of stone and freshened up the driveway. I am sure it will do great on the access roads on my 400 acres. I did not think it would be that aggressive on packed material. I took my little car to get it. Diesel is to much so I stuffed it in my little car. Those of you that were wondering if it would fit in your suv should have no trouble.

Oh and I was skeptical of it and had been looking at them since they first came out but could not justify the price tag. For 199.00 it is a steal and I have a feeling that after using it I would be apt to pay the 369.00 for it. I like it. A lot
