True, it probbaly cant hurt itself lifting something vertically, but if you were lifting a load that was badly rigged and it were to slip, drop 3 feet and catch, you could easily shock load the boom.
Or, try to lift and pull sideways with the boom extended.

Makes sense.

Bep/Dami, well, I'm gonna call it a draw....y'all gonna have to take your ladders to the next level and go round one more time....with photos....doesn't,t look like there are any more entries.

However, this being an election year, I fully expect a FLa entry later on ...a leaning tower of chads...assuming someone remembers to empty all those voteing machines of their multi year Chad burden.

So you're saying:

I'm afraid my friends that were supposedly taking pics of me teetering precariously up in the lift's bucket turned out to be using a smartphone to take a short video instead, & it's terrible ... neither the lift nor me is in the video even for a split second

No doubt it was precarious, exciting and improved prayer life:thumbsup:

It was a rented device used safely primarily for what it was designed...and you did a superb job of attacking several of your tasks with it.

I kinda figured the friendly competition was about 'Safely repurposing tractors and climbing devices to get a job done.

Yes, you and Dami definately have both won since you both repurposed your tractor as a mobile ladder platform and extension....and they worked;)

I dunno if that contest is closed or ongoing ... but, it looks like I may have to rent that lift again when it comes time to cut the truss tails off evenly & attach the fascia board.

I could revive my step-ladder-atop-tractor-roof setup to cut off the truss tails, which are at about 15' above ground, but attaching the fascia boards to the gable ends of the roof are higher - The peak itself is right at 20' above ground, & there's nowhere to lean an extension ladder; it's kind of out in mid-air  ... and the overhand in that area is 3', so I don't think I can just easily lean the ladder against the truss & reach out behind me to the fascia board ... or can I?! :confused2:

Anyway, if I have to rent the lift again I will make darn sure there are pics this time.

Good grief I've made this thing (too) tall. But, whatever it takes to take the lead in this competition.
