You'll have to weld another bottom tab to attach the strap to. You can grind it off the end one...

Teg is right. The 72" model does not have the corresponding bottom brackets for the 2nd and 3rd upper tabs. Cutting a length off of the end of the 72 would leave you with only one bottom bracket and therefore only one strap could be used.

Looking at the installation instructions on their website, it appears that the 52 inch model does have all 4 of the bottom brackets. I don't know why the longer version has just two.

I just finish cutting, grinding and drilling 3 extra tabs... If I have time I'll post a photo of them before mounting them.

I saw that, & I think that's why I didn't notice they were missing on the inners of the 72".
I would guess that's because the 52" is made to also fit narrower buckets, & the 72 does not. That would seem to imply that the other brackets on the 72 are there for support only.

Well, I'm now part of the ratchet rake feeding frenzy. I bought one of the two left at the Athens, GA store. It's on and ready for a test when it dries up a little.

I would use all 3 now you have them fabricated. Welding to 5/8" steel will be a breeze.:drink:

I lucked out today. Scored a 72 in Ratchet Rake from the TSC store in Palatka, Fl. Persistence pays off. On Jan 3, I called down to the same store and gave them the sku #, and they supposedly checked and said they didn't have one and they were discontinued.

I call down to the same store yesterday to double check, and had them check again,and put eyes on it to verify, and they found a bright yellow 72 in Ratchet Rake and one each of the other sizes. They said they have had them awhile. I had them put a hold on the 72 in for me, and picked it up today.

Those that have checked and got a no answer, take a picture of the Ratchet Rake with you. Everybody asked me what it was.

I think if TSC had one mounted on a tractor in the front of their store, someone might see it and want one. A small TV and DVD player or computer playing the video would show the operation of the Ratchet Rake for those not on a tractor site like TBN.

I don't think it has been advertised very well.

But, anyway I have one now and I plan to put it to work.

The same thing occurred at my Tractor Supply Company Store...
When I called them they said that they did not have one in stock...
On a lurk I went in and found one...
I'm glad that they didn't know it...
One of my best buys in a while...

Howell, MI store did the same thing, They did not know where to look. He went to the shovels area before I told him it was for a 3pt. setup on a trator then it hit him. OOH, that big yellow thing outside with the box strapped to it. Sure enough he had one of each size on a pallet.

It it interesting that so many at TSC do not know they have them or have never sold one.

The manager at the TSC where I got mine said that he hoped they were just getting rid of the 72" and not the others because he sold quite a few of them. I asked if he had any feedback and he said nobody had specifically given him a report but that he had never seen one returned which usually means a product works.

He also said that not all stores had them because TSC was doing a test with the new product and only certain stores are a part of that, generally the bigger stores that sell more. By the way, the TSC in my town did not carry them, I drove 50 miles to another one. My local store said that would not ship it to me from another store because it was a clearance item.

It is interesting the different things heard from the different TSC stores.
