Great thread! I can play at this. Last year, shortly after a week long rain storm, my father took his electric cart down to see the water flowing in the normally dry river. He didn't make it. I just hopped on the tractor intending to pull him out ... but I didn't make it. I had left the mowing deck on and it bottomed out, then I just dug myself a hole.

Had to disconnect the mowing deck, dig out around the tractor (by hand), put large 4x6 lumber under the tires, then finally got it out onto some plywood pieces -- made a little wooden road to drive it back to dry ground.

Came back for the mowing deck about a week later -- but the ground was still too soft, so we hooked up a chain from solid ground and dragged it to where we could re-attach.

It's a homemade cage the original owner made to work their tung orchard. That was forty some odd years ago.

Not those types of tongues, but tung fruit... They are gathered and the seeds are smashed up to make tung oil. My farm used to be a tung orchard in the 40's through early 60's.

There are a few plants still around, but most were wiped out by a hurricane in the 60s, then with no real market anymore for the oil, the rest were cut down.

I posted this a few weeks ago, its my Dodge stuck, and stuck good. It took a John Deere backhoe to pull me out.
