To answer your question a little further. No the sig does not have a manual safety like your (and mine) Beretta. The decocker only lever on the Sig springs back up under spring tension. The decocker on the Beretta stays set in detent, you have to manually move the Berettas safety to fire position, to be able to fire the gun.
Most will argue, and I basically agree, you don't need a safety with a gun like that. When decocked you are in DA mode and that requires a 10 pound long trigger pull, as opposed to the 4 lb pull when the hammer is cocked and the gun is in SA mode. So basically similar to a revolver, no safety on a revolver just a heavy trigger pull, usually 12 +lbs.
With the long heavy trigger pull required in DA mode, it is almost impossible to have an accidental discharge by just casual contact with the trigger.
One scenario where a manual safety could be a plus is if some inexperienced person (or a kid) grabbed your gun and tried to discharge it by just pulling the trigger, they couldn't, with the safety on.
