Just tried it. None found. Maybe no requirement that they fess up to what's in it?

Wikipedia's article on "fracking fluid" (Proppants and fracking fluids - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) states it's 98% water ... anybody believe that?

I do, that 2 Butyoxyethenol is what you are smelling in that fluid, Anything that is a Butyl ether will stink to high heaven and it don't take much of it. They say in the rest of the article that it degrades quickly in air, but underground... hmmm. Toxic levels at 20PPM and the odor detection level at .4PPM. Dont see any Phosgene gas though. As you may or may not know Phosgene was used in WWI on the battlefield, and has the Clorine atom in it. and can be made in our little home workshops by welding on some metal after spraying brake cleaner or any tricloro- type cleaner. Bad stuff. And the effects are usually permanent if you live over it.

If I were in an area where such things were happening, I would get a dash camera such as: HD 1080p Dual Lens IR Car Dashboard Dash Camera Cam Accident DVR,Rotable Monitor | eBay or Wide 150 degree HD 720P IR Night Vision Car Dash Cam Video Camera Recorder DVR | eBay so that it would capture the event as it happened and give me something to show to the cops, the company and (if needed) my insurance company. $60-$80 for the peace of mind of knowing that whatever happens will be on tape would be well worth it IMO.

Out of curiosity, what industry are you in?

Sorry, but anyone who trusts someone else's contract without having their own lawyer look it over is a fool (at best).

I sure don't need any ammunition against you, since I'm not against you at all. I may have some opinions, but I'd be the first to admit that while I have a college education, it's not in anything related to this. So I don't claim to know what problems, if any, have been caused by the gas drilling and fracing. Nor have I claimed that they have NOT caused some problems. I have only pointed out that passion and temper have led you to exaggerate so much that you hurt your own credibility and apparently cannot see that.

You see, what statement I can make with absolute certainty is that not everyone in that business is as bad as you apparently have decided they are. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the vast majority of them (as in most businesses) are just people trying to make a living and not wanting to cause anyone any problems. But are there some bad people in that business? Well, of course there are; just as there are some bad ones in any occupation or profession I can think of.

We all know this can't be, H e l l its from the Bloomburg news agency for crying out loud, and according to anyone living in texas, Missouri, or anyone who is making a dollar, or has made a dollar from the gas industry, drinking a pint of gas byproducts a day are good for the gene pool, as the rest of us can clearly see!

Fracking?s Toll on Pets, Livestock Chills Farmers: Commentary - Bloomberg

So Bloomberg says it's killing off livestock and pets. If it kills them, wouldn't it also kill off some people? How many of those animals had autopsies performed on them?

I certainly do not have the education or scientific background to either agree or disagree with the article. But for a strictly unscientific opinion, it appears ludicrous.

I think I've mentioned already that the same battles about water well damage, unpleasant odors, and such are being fought in this area, too, but the killing of livestock and pets is one thing I haven't heard of those opposed claiming here yet. But I'll bet if they read that article, they will.

Landowner claims of monetary loss due to livestock drinking contaminated water in drilling pits have been around for as long as mud pits. And of course all of these claims are legitimate and tragic because only gas companies are bad people, certainly no landowners would lie, cheat and steal. (Note to reader, look for sarcasm in the last sentence. )

Computers. I currently work as a sysadmin, mainly Windows based, but some Linux (mainly CentOS and OpenWRT).
So, if I have a bad experience with someone who does solid modeling (or several people in that field), does that mean that I am justified in badmouthing everything that anyone in the industry does?
If someone has a computer arrive with a dead harddrive, are they justified in taking it out on every person who works in the computer industry?
That may not be what you intended when you wrote your posts, but what came across was "I have run into a few bad eggs in the oil/gas industry and so the whole industry is made up of such people"

My sentiments exactly.
