Just found your thread. This is one case where substituting RTV for
the paper gaskets is clearly superior. Paper gaskets are very fast to install
(as on the assembly line) but not as good as RTV. If you look at the
crankshaft where the seal lips rub, there was some wear, correct? If you
reinstall the seal holder with RTV instead of a paper gasket, the rubber
lip of the seal will rest on an unworn, larger diameter part of the crank.
That is due to the RTV seal being thinner than the paper gasket.
BTW, my B21's crank seal failed, which destroyed the clutch.
I don't know if you said...how many hours on this Kubota?

I used a very thin film of rtv on the paper gaskets...both of them. The paper gaskets were very, very thin btw.
I think it has around 1400 hrs.
I'm surprised that a leaking rear main would destroy a clutch/pressure plate like mine was...I can see it making the clutch disc slip, but not disintegrated into many peices?
