I would put up a privacy fence, or barrier at the place she's trying to "look" into your property. quick and easy. Gotta love "snootie" people.

Fencing property that is big enough to hold three horses and fifty tractors (ok, maybe not quite that many tractors, but this is Soundguy we're talking about, lol) would take a serious amount of $$$, and for what? Just to ruin the view you have? Looking at the backside of a privacy fence isn't my idea of a good view. Better ways to spend a buck, in my opinion. If the money is spent putting up a fence, all the harasser has to do is stand on top of that vehicle's bumper to see over it and that is worth another phone call.

Why give in to this, what we all know is crap?? IF they ever pursue you further, you could either deny ever seeing any such red sign, or take a higher road & say, "Yes I saw a red sign saying I was in violation. In violation of what?? I knew with absolute certainty that I operate completely within the law & chose to respond accordingly, that is to not respond at all."

What penalties would there be?? You're not breaking the law!

Besides stating that "you're in violation", what did this sign tell you to do?

Maybe I don't have enough info.

My last code enforcement was a total mistake and cost me half a day to resolve.

The home next to a property I own is very dilapidated foreclosure... no address or mailbox.

Someone called in and said the house next to xxx main street... the notice of violation just listed XXX main street.

The inspector was two hours late and he apologized and said my property was the nicest on the block...

The time before I got a code compliance on Mom's property where she lives... the city owns parkland next to her and the area she was cited for is city property... that took almost an act of congress to resolve... the city has no idea of what is owns and finally, after weeks of threats, the city sent it's surveyor to prove it was city land.

The time before was the elderly 97 year old house bound widow... she got a 72 hour notice of a hazardous tree after which the city would remove the tree and bill her for an estimated $2800... including $800 of admin fees... again, the tree was 14 feet on city property and it took the city about 4 months to abate their hazard...

They recently passed a law making adjoining property owners responsible for city sidewalks adjoining private property...

This person has probably watched one to many T.V. shows where they follow the animal cruelty people. She probably thinks she is doing the world a favor. Either that or she just doesn't like you having animals that close to her house.

Be sure to leave the sign up for 3-4 days and then remove it and put wooden crosses on three piles of dirt in the front yard.
