Yes, the short cat. 1 pin fit but it was a little close. The medium one is a little long, but that's what I'm using...I bought one of each just to be safe...

I built my own weight box for my BX. The shape is pretty close to the Kubota box, but I modified it quite a bit. I used expanded metal grating for the bottom so it won't hold water and added some brackets on the backside of it to hold a shovel, a pitchfork and a rake.
I've got a small tool box in there and as of yet, have never actually used it as a weight box. It's only been used as a carryall.

I have to ask - what do you use this for? I am thinking I could carry things in the scoop and leave my blade, tiller, or whatever hanging on the back. I could see it used for firewood to get it out of the tree lot but what else do you use it for? Just curious.

I use it for hauling around all kinds of stuff I don't want to put in the loader bucket. The only other rear attachment we have is the backhoe, and with it's size I don't want to keep it mounted all the time...

I guess I use my bucket for carrying lots of things and, yes, sometimes forget to take them out before I use my bucket. But I am really wondering when would I use this carryall versus putting things in the scoop because 1) it ties up the 3 pt which I have lots of attachments for and 2) you have to handload everything whereas the scoop just digs in.
The one use I do see for it is firewood. it would be really handy to be able to haul more firewood out of the trees at one time and my trailer can be a little cumbersome in trees. I am just trying to get a handle on what type of projects I would use it for so that I do not buy something else that collects rust out back.

The main use of mine is for firewood. Both sides and the front are removable for other applications. Sometimes I stack cinder blocks in it for rear ballast. Put my generator in it for transporting to work area, etc. In this pic its on my previous tractor.
