Well all of the Martian's 110 post finally pushed me over the edge. I've toyed with buying a 110 for several years and just couldn't convince myself I needed one. But Deere cancelling production and Martian's thread, I knew I need make a move.

I doubt I'll be able to find the stellar deal he has on his 110 but my want list is about the same. I'd really like all hydro options and low hrs. I've been looking locally for private sales but haven't found many with the hydro options. I talked to my dealer today and even though they're dicontinued there not giving any deals on the remaining inventory.

So I'll start by asking a few questions my dealer wasn't interested in answering. Is the circuit to the front standard? I also need the hydro thumb on the hoe. Do any scv(other than the loader) come standard? I was just about to add the 4th and 5th kit to my 3320 for tnt and my harley rake angle.

My dealer also has a used 4320 OS he was really pushing on me so I could keep the 448 hoe. It has a new 400x loader and 1100 hr. I feel 1100 is a bit to high for me and would've rather had the 400cx. I know the 400 loaders and hoe's aren't in the same class as the 110 though.

And my final question is will my trailer get the job done? 12k 18' tilt.

Your trailer has the load capacity, certainly. I'd be concerned about overall length. The 110 with hoe is close to 20'. Granted, the hoe is hanging in the air... but, 18'; doesn't leave you with any possibility of hauling additional implements or the possibility that you might be over-limit on tongue weight with no room to back up or re-configure the load.

IIRC - even the front SCV is optional. I've seen a number of 110's that did not have the front SCV. So, the short answer is - they're all optional - and have to be ordered with the machine.

Of course, you can find 110's that have the optional 7th function for the thumb; but no thumb - and no additional rear SCV's (3), either.

Hope this is helpful..

Ok, I've never seen a 110 without the front scv but I seem many with out the 7th on the hoe. So other than the dedicated loader scv's no others are standard? I thought only the 7th was factory required?

Knew all those posts would make someone want to go spend some money;)

I toyed with the idea of going locally as well, the only one around me hand none of the hydro options and was nearly the same price. Glad I didn't go that route.

The front circuit is not standard. None of the hydraulic options are. I found the hardest part was finding them with all the hydro options because they are all factory order only. No field install available. If you want to spend an arm and a leg and a lot of manual labor, I guess you could order all the parts and do it yourself, but you can find one with it a lot easier and cheaper.

And to reinforce with the next question, none of the other hydro options come standard, and all must be ordered from the factory.

To get any rear hydraulics on the 110 you have to get a set of three, which are also optional, and you guessed it, from the factory only. So if you do plan to get a TnT and any other sort of hydraulic attachment, you'll have to look for one that has it.

As for the thumb, you have to have a BH with the quick attach bucket, otherwise the JD thumb is incompatible.

As you can imagine the 110's hoe and the 448 are no comparison. The 110's is molded straight from the 310 full size BH. I thought about a 4x20 with a cab and BH, but for me, working in the woods a lot, I needed a bigger bh and was afraid of cracking the glass with being in the woods. So 110 was it for me. This is quite a substantially bigger machine than the 3120 as well. But it's what I wanted. (The second picture doesn't really doesn't do it justice, I'll have to get another pic)

Your trailer will haul it as well. Might not be able to fit any attachments, but you'll have plenty of capacity

Matt,
Nope... the optional rear (3) SCV's are also factory required - no field install.

When I was looking and looking for a good used 110 (over 2 years - bought in '08) there were a number of them that did not have the front SCV. That was one of the first things I'd look for in the pics! 'Cause I needed to run a root grapple.

As part of that "learning curve" - i.e. - what does field install really mean and trying to understand how the 7th hoe function was seperate from the rear, tractor mounted SCV's, etc., etc. -- it really became apparent that 1.) if I found everything I wanted; it was gonna cost me and 2.) the price difference between a good used tractor with all the options and a new one was pretty small!

Oh yeah, one other little "niggling" detail to be aware of.. gotta have the OPTIONAL Q/A hoe bucket in order to have the hyd thumb!

Haven't checked lately... that dealer in NY still have the 110 for sale? Looked pretty complete - don't recall if the 3pt hardware was included, though.

Low hours ~600 and hyd thumb, front SCV. Asking $26.5K - IIRC.

Not too far from CT.. if geograhy is current!

Actually, you were way faster than me, I was responding to the original post, but somehow managed to answer the question in the second as well:confused:
