Ground hog living in my shed...

My old lab used to love ground hog hunting so much that the golf course behind me used to borrow him -- he had one little scar on his muzzle from a groundhog bite and never suffered another. I used a connibear this summer with great success in my barn -- since I could keep all other animals away from the trap, I just put it over the hole -- the hog came up right through the trigger and -- expired hog. My friend took one out from under his shed by sitting in his driveway in the truck -- the groundhog was used to the parked truck and missed the open window and gun barrel :D

Varmit hunting was one of our "chores" growing up. Used to find the burrow they ducked into and then would craw up to it with the old .410 and lay it about a foot away from the hole. Have the other guy go find the second hole and make a big deal plugging it and then leave. Usually took 15-30 minutes and the little SOB just had to poke his head up to see if the coast was clear. Squeeze the trigger.

I saw one run into a hole in a tree while I was mowing, so I jumped off the tractor, set up the trap and flushed him out. I was surprised at how strong they are, had to wire the trap door closed to keep him from pushing right past it.

I have a ground hog or two that's been living in my shed for the past 3 yrs. it's time for them to leave!

Any suggestions on removing ground hogs effectively? Thank u

Groundhogs in Indiana have become endangered. Seldom see them anymore. Have a little mercy of the poor fellows and use a live trap baited with an apple then relocate them. All they want to do is to live their lives like any other creature.

Run or dump large quantities of water down the hole. With no air they will come out. What happens next is up to you.(death, trap in box, etc.)
