What did you do to your tractor today?

/ What did you do to your tractor today? #131
Finally I have brought an engine from the workshop to my farm's garage yesterday using my own rig (distance ~100 miles). The tractor assembly works will start as soon as the weather conditions will become a bit friendly, at least a couple of degrees above 0C (32F). Hope it'll happen after a week or two.

Today I sent it back to the shop for a full service visit, changeover to a quick attach setup, addition of rear remotes, purchase of a bucket, grapple, and pallet forks to add to the quick attach. I'm also sending along my curtis snow blade to have it converted over, and also add the hydraulics to make it a power angle.

Thanks Rick Wallace for all your help!

Cheers,
Sabooo

I hand dug a ten foot tall `cedar`, and then with the Kubota I lifted it out of the hole, and then hand dug another hole and lowered the tree into it......hard work cutting the roots with the pick ax, and shoveling the dirt :) easy tractor stuff even though I broke a spindle off the railing for the steps....Didn`t make me mad as I did it :) Tony

What happened with an engine? Age, mileage?

I bought it as 'good' 70thousand miles and running great when taken out motor

Put it in my Land Rover and it would only fire properly on 3 cylinders

It's a 200 tdi (2.5 4 cyl Turbo Diesel)

Took motor out and found a bent conrod on No 4:mad:

Some people tell lies when selling motors, I wouldn't but some do unfortunately

Sad story.
I had such cases with the customers while working in a position of workshop manager. It happens when engine sucks in water inside the cylinder. But usually engine even not starts after that.
In your case I would better fix an original engine or would purchase remanufactured one from certified workshop with the warranty. It's more expensive, but with minimum risk.
Try to get back to a seller and talk to him.
