Chinese bulldozer

I came very close to buying a new Chinese Dozer and spoke to several owners to get their feedback. All of them like the size and 3 point, but everyone of them said that they had issues with breakdowns and parts availabilty to the point of having some repair parts made at local machine shops.

In the end I bought a used Cat D3 with 6 way blade and ripper. It has been a great dozer and can handle anything.

The only blessing or curse is that I have nothing that can tow a 15,000 lb tractor. It's a blessing because I don't have to "loan" it out to friends and family and it's a curse because it costs a minimum of $300 to hire someone to move it if I ever wanted to.

Anybody out there have one of these machines? I just purchased it but don't know much about it. If anyone knows of a dealer or a location I can find a parts catalogue that would be appreicated. Thanks It is a power Trac PT 400, having trouble uploading a photo, I will send later.

I'll help you all I can, and there is several more owners at CTOA. Circle-G tractor, Keno, tractor have parts, and almost every other dealer has engine parts. Would like to know what year it is and what engine it has.
They are good little dozers for their weight, and very capable. I have over 600 hrs. on mine with no problems I haven't asked for. I will speculate that the reason for breakage issues is inexperienced operators expecting it to perform like a D8.

I think Northern Tools dozer line was called PowerTrac, but I'm not positive (they don't sell'em anymore). Does yours look like this?

If you can find the engine label and/or the dozer label, it would help a lot. Bob can help with dozer label location. Engine label is typically on the valve cover (top or side) or on the side of the engine block.

Ok, then who the heck marketed under the PowerTrac decal? I doubt it's the American Power-Trac, they're pretty much sticking with the articulation crowd. Think that's something Hobby Horse Ranch may have sold in the past?

I'm so glad to hear there's somebody else out there with a similar tractor. It does have chinese markings on it but I'm having trouble finding the name plate. I believe it is a 1977. anybody know where I can get a owners manual for it?

Yes it looks very similar to bobs photo but without the backhoe attachment. Can somebody tell me where I would add hydraulic fluid.
