Oil & Fuel BX25 stalling out

Have a BX25 with about 340 hours on it. While I am running it for no apparent reason it stalls out. When I put the key to accessory I could not hear the fuel pump priming so I thought it was the pump. I put a new one on thinking I fixed my problem but is still doing it, runs for a few hours and stalls out. I have checked my transmission fluid and it's ok. Any ideas what it could be?

I had a blockage in my tank and it would take awhile before it would start stumbling. See my post;

I would disconnect tank line to first flilter underneath and see what fuel flow is like. A leaf, paper seal from additive cap... a lot could fall in that big fill cap openning.

Believe the vent on the tank is in the tank cap, could be plugged, causing the tank not to let the fuel flow properly.

I'd bet the 1st fuel filter is the problem. Just a small amount of water will stop the flow of fuel. Change it and you will be fine.

Agree, check fuel filters.

I disagree with others here about filters. Your tractor is too new to have that problem if you only use fuel from the stations all the time. You mentioned you can't hear the pump so I am thinking more of along the lines of safety switches.
HST pedal and pto engage switch comes to mind. I wonder if the seat switch is causing it since its stalling out as you have 2 switches.
I would run down the checklist of switches and wiring harness to make sure nothing is pinched (unlikely wiring but free to check).

OTOH, I'd check and replace the first filter under BX since its so easy and simple to check and replace, but I really think its switches.

Sorry radioman, I had the same problem, pulled the outlet line off the first filter, plugged solid, no flow, changed filter, problem solved. This was at 380 hours, always filled from clean cans and now a filtered pump from bulk tank. Cut plugged filter open, full of flaky black stuff like paint flakes. Probably from factory aseembly. Found the same stuff in nthe hydraulic strainer and filter at 50 hr.

no worries seabee, I have been known to be wrong at times, but I was reading into the fact OP says he can't hear pump when its turned on. It could very well be the fact its plugged up in line and pump is off since the pressure is already high so it may not need to run :confused3: .

Thats what we are here for as brainstorming tank. OP - any luck so far?

Thanks guys for the tips. I found the problem, you would never guess what it was. While checking the wiring going to the fuel pump I noticed a bad ground. It turned out while out in the bush with the tractor I caught a branch and it snagged a wiring harness under the tractor damaging the ground wire to the point only the insulation was holding the wire together. Sometimes the wire would make contact and sometimes it wouldn't making the tractor stall out. Who would have thought So now it's fixed and working fine again. But, I'm out with it yesterday and I got a cut in the side wall of my front tire what's next.

The only way to keep **** from happening is to park it and look at it. Work it, things will break.
