Hello All,

Just joined the Forum to say THANK YOU! I just got the only 72" RR from the Kimball, TN TSC because of the heads-up posted here. Now, as soon as my tractor gets delivered, I can get to work!

Awaiting my Mahindra 5010 HST w/Cab, Mahindra 6ft boxblade, quick-hitch and trailer. The Chattanooga, TN distribution center (only 35 miles from me) was out of HSTs, sending one from Texas...the suspense is killing me, I hope it lasts...:D
We have raised goats for 40 years. I actially got the ratchet rake in hopes that it would aid in the cleaning fo the goat barn. Their hooves pack the manure amd shavings mix to a very hard pack that is difficult to break up with just a front end loader. I'll report on hoe it works, I'm going to try it today, if I can.

I found another use for the Ratchet Rake....

It fits awesome on a box blade if you don't have your front end loader completely built yet....

at first I put it on like this... I thought it would kinda work like a york rake (which WAS on my list of need to buy items).

It worked ok, but kept loosening up... so I thought, why not mount it to the front edge....

All I can say is WOW...better than a york rake...after moving tons of dirt with the box blade, I was getting ready to finish grade for grass seed...after I spent three hours tonight (with just the box blade) leveling and getting rid of ruts and high spots, I was done.. was pulling the tractor in for the night when I had a lightbulb go off... I strap it on and ran around the loose/clumpy dirt and in no time it is perfectly smooth and ready for grass seed tomorrow.... I decided to do the back in the dark and was simply amazed. you can change the angle of the top link to make it move material, or you can just let it glide across and let it work...perfectly smooth and it grabs the rocks and bricks and whatever else you have hiding with ease.. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow and throw up a before (after a boxblade) and then after the Ratchet rake... heck, I might not even put it on the loader when I get it done.... lol

Very interesting! It may be worth making something like that for the box blade alone!

Well I've given in to the TSC RR craze.

Just called my local TSC and they had one in stock... they are holding for me. Pick it up at 4:30. And getting it for $200.

I hope this thing works as well as claimed. I have a bunch of honeysuckles to ripped out.

Scoutcub,

I am very happy with mine. The problem on my land is wysteiria (sp?) - the heavy vining stuff. You can see reminants of it on the trees and ground. It takes over everything, like kudzu with flowers.

Also lots of big limbs and debris in the area from dozer work done last year.

Here are some before/after shots of what the RR can do. Took me about 1 hour to clear @ 1/2 acre and was only my 2nd time using the RR.

Here's some pics of my new 72" RR on my Kubota L3830. I just tried it out on some honeysuckle. Works awesome!!!

The RR removes the honeysuckle and then rakes the dirt back in the hole when backing up... Leaving the ground more or less level! Sure is a huge time saver. So far I'm impressed. It's built like a freakin tank too! Lol

Makes a good looking seed bed. Thanks for the photos.

i found another use for the RR today. Putting in T-posts. Hung them from a choker cable and used the RR to drive (push) them in with the bucket. With a tight choker, the top of the post sits in the RR "V" so it stay straight and then you just push them in and the "V" keeps the top from sliding off. I've used the bucket before to push them in put without the RR it was a two person job. May not have been much faster then pounding them in with a hand held slide hammer but it sure was less work and more fun!

Another useful thing about the RR is how much easier it is to carry long stuff on the bucket edge without worrying about it falling off.
