Here is another little wake up call for the Warmies.

J. Loveit a big time scientist involved in the warming thing. He now says its all a hokes and is not happening.

Look this up in several scientific journals.

Wind turbines do increase the air temp where they are located. More turbines higher temp.

In England it takes more energy to keep the turbines warm & operating than they produce.

Wind Turbines kill around 400 birds a year including many Bald Eagles. They are except from all fines or liabilities. No So for Oil Company's.

Once again, do coal stacks heat the air? Do nuclear plants send hot air into the atmosphere? Not only do they but they heat the water in the rivers they dump to. So what's your point here? That windmills heat the immediate surroundings? Is there waste from wind energy? Waste coal? No. Do we have to use more energy to bring coal to wind farms? No.

And if windmills are heating the air you better talk to your friend HS because he thinks the sun is the only thing heating the planet.

Wind mills kill birds, the solution is to build sites out of migratory paths where very few birds fly, which is now being done, we've learned, too bad we haven't learned how to stop massive oil spills.

You kill birds when you drive your car, happens here regularly, are you so concerned about the birds that you're going to stop driving?

Causes of Bird Die-Offs - What Kills Flocks of Birds

"Trauma

Many bird die-offs are caused by massive trauma to birds' heads, wings and bodies from powerful collisions. This can occur when flocks are startled and panicked and their natural agility is compromised, which leads to collisions with other birds in the air or with obstacles such as buildings, trees, electrical wires or radio towers."

Poisoning

Inappropriate use of pesticides or insecticides on agricultural crops can poison flocks of birds that feed on the contaminated grain. Similarly, chemicals that have contaminated popular water supplies can result in mass poisonings of bird flocks. Landscaping chemicals such as fertilizers and herbicides can also be poisonous if used improperly.

One guy? Gee, that settles it, everyone else is wrong!

There are countries around the world agreeing on CC.

This is what I mean when I say they are part of the 10% who do the exact wrong thing. [It may be what you mean but the assertion is False.

Wind farms can cause climate change, finds new study - Telegraph

Robert Bryce: Windmills Are Killing Our Birds - WSJ.com

These people shouldn't be able to get near energy policy.HS

That is total BS. It has nothing to do with climate or dead birds. Cars moving on road do the same thing. In fact the air downstream of the turbines is cooler because the turbine removes some of the energy from the moving air mass.
True

The article below would suggest otherwise:

Wind farms may have warming effect - research | Reuters

I'm just waiting for the articles of faith for environmentalism to be completed.
Read more carefully and consult a Physics text.

Facts, where are your facts??
Study Physics. Concentrate on the part about energy.

Wind turbines do increase the air temp where they are located. More turbines higher temp. So? The article makes clear what is happening.

In England it takes more energy to keep the turbines warm & operating than they produce.

Stirring warm air into cooler warms the cooler. So!? ... The described scenario would cause earth cooling. All the info is there if you bounce the articles off a Physics book.

Currently Wind Power is not working and does so little it hardly even counts. The current crop of wind machines require almost constant maintenance and then barely 1/2 of them are producing. It has been reported that if all works well it takes 20 years to recover cost. Even if they are made in the US the steel comes from China.

Currently Solar is pretty much of a joke, it's producing even less power than Wind. Woo Pooy Doo they are also made in China. Yes I know there are some commercial plants based on mirrors and hot salt. They are in the experimental stage and 1 had to be shut down because of a Lizard.

The US gas enough coal to last about 1.000 years. Coal is and can be burned cleanly.
Enough (proven ) Natural gas for another 400.

Not that any of you loons are ever going to look at real facts or change your mind.

Yea I'm ill informed. Right, you all know so much more than I do.

I'm also really screwing up the planet. Driving my 97 PU that has just over 90,000 miles on it. Witch one of you Planet Savers drive less than I do???

My family was Recycling long before the term was even invented. Almost everything we built was from used lumber and such.

You Modern Loon Greenies & Warmies think you have discovered all the things that we have know for over 3 generations.

Keep you dreams and enjoy you life.

This "loon greenie" just checked his monthly energy generation. I sold 750 KWH to my coop, that's above what I used. Can't wait for my wind mills and micro hydro to kick in this summer so I can see how much I can save on heating and how much I can make from selling electric from all those renewables that don't work!

How much did you say your monthly electric and heating bill was? Chopped wood to heat did you? I turned on a switch, boy am I stupid!

Larry,

They burned all the physics books, they didn't fit their paradigm! It created a lot of heat in the vicinity of the flame though!

I delivered the occasional wood utility pole to wind farms. One had about thirty turbines and was being maintained by two people out of a pole building located on about two acres. They had a couple of 3/4 tons with work boxes and an old boom truck. They did light maintenance with the heavy maintenance contracted out. The poles I delivered were used to access power from in-place rural distribution lines so that contractors had adequate clean power when doing tower maintenance. I have no idea what maintenance costs were compared to coal but they have to be cheaper than cleaning up the mess coal makes, especially because cleanup has barely started.

Hmm, I don't understand. They went through the trouble of running power lines to have power just for maintenance? I would think a small portable generator would have been far easier and cheaper. Maybe I am missing something.

"Witch one of you Planet Savers drive less than I do???"

That would be me.

I drove 39k since 2006. 39/6 = 6.5k per year, BUT mileage isn't the correct denominator. I got an average of over 25 mpg (mixed). The average PU gets about 16 mpgs mixed city/hwy. So while you averaged 90/15 = 6K a year you burned 6k/16 = 375 gallons of gas. I, on the other hand, burned 6.5k/25 =260 gallons a year.

Thus you created more pollution and used more resources than I did. Oh, and you also spent more to get from point 'A' to point 'B' than I did.

"You Modern Loon Greenies & Warmies think you have discovered all the things that we have know for over 3 generations."

In order for you to know this you would have to know how long us "loon greenies" have been discovering whatever it is you think you have discovered. (Your statement basically has no foundation based in reason)

I could talk about coal and repost the long list of pollutants coal plants are presently spewing into the atmosphere but I don't think you would actually read them.

Facts, where are your facts??

Mixing cold and warm air is not a climate change. It will not change energy content at the particular place. Any moving object or obstacle in air stream will mix air. I hit a bird by car just about once a year then multiply it by number of cars. I see freshly dead animal on the road just about every day on my commute.

I think you have to look at the productivity of the vehicle. If you are moving a cu yard of material in your truck as opposed to moving 1 person to point A in a car, how do you calculate in the productivity aspect. I think that is a factor that needs consideration. Just a thought.

With regards to coal (I know little about it nor have I ever actually seen a piece)It would be better to link to a website so the responder can judge if there is bias at the website as well as even argue the points or data presented. If I linked folks here to a article on Climate Change at the Rush Limbaugh website, there would without doubt be skepticism.

If you want a good idea on presenting an argument for a cause may I suggest you look at National Geographic's Masters of Photography. The videos are free at Apple iTunes. Go to Ocean Soul #10 presented by Brian Skerry. Excellent work and his not so over the top teaching is something we can all learn from. He makes an excellent argument about Tuna fishing near the end of the video as well as talks about New Zealands remarkable coastal recovery. Even if your not into this stuff, he at least gets you to think about it.
