BR are you using Urea? Urea's nitrogen content is higher than some other nitrogen fertilizers, hence the higher price....kinda equals out. I think my COOP guy said ammonium nitrite was in the 30% nitrogen content and urea up in the mid 40's%. They don't sell the ammonium nitrite anymore...too many regulations and thanks to Tim McVeigh.

Sometimes I do use Urea ... depends upon the availability of Nitrogen if there is none then I get Urea. We can buy Nitrogen here.

Prices yesterday for Urea where 880 a ton.

I'm in Love county, not far apart and the prices are so different. Have you tried Landgraf in Madill. I get mine from one of thier branches but the price should be the same. I will call them this morning and check prices and let you know what I find out. I want pay $880 a ton!

Just called and urea is now going for $725 a ton. I should have purchased it weeks ago. My luck!

Thats still a $155 less per ton on Urea ... maybe the coops in my area are grouped together and fix the price.

I'm about an hr from Madill... I'll call them tomorrow maybe they have something a little closer.

Couldn't help me and too far to go ... ITS REAL DRY ... I pulled into a 30 acre field yesterday evening and was very sad to see the grass turning brown ... thinner than I like, I took it anyway ... in a week it would be burned up.

Weel at least you probably didn't have to dry it out before baling, much. Hopefully we get some of the rain there talking about.

I stopped cutting about 7 p.m. Saturday night, the radio said 40% chance and I left about 10 acres ... yesterday while I was conducting an auction in Texas my neighbor raked and round baled it ... it was ready at 2 p.m. and he was done by 5 p.m. .... it still rolled out 29 of the 4x5.5 bales.

Yes ... it dryed fast. But I'm telling you these 15-20 mph winds and 90 degree temps it won't take long ... the rain chance appears to be here through Tuesday, so Wednesday I'll take the rest down and square bale it ... then I've got 40 acres ready ... I fiqured I didn't have enough work to do so I took a custom baling job for another neighbor for the weekend.
