Mowing 62D mower on 2320 wont cut higher than 3"

Hopefully you have the correct hanger yokes, from jdparts it looks like there are two different versions depending on machine serial no.

Also the 62d deck for the 2320 has a different part no than the 62d deck for the 2520,2720. Is it possible the dealer put the incorrect deck under the tractor. I don't know if it would even be possible. Just a thought.

My 2320 does NOT have the independent lift - and after much fiddling around, I finally got it so it would lock in the UP position as it is suppose to (which I think would affect the use of the deck height control..

Now when I lower it to the highest setting (1st position below than the locked up position) i am mowing at around 4" or maybe a tad higher..

I have R4 tires that have about 12lbs of air rear and about 15 lbs in the rear..

My dealer said I would hate the independent lift because you had to constantly hold up the deck while mowing, apparently they didnt put in the washer! It does come in a somewhat large bag and is hard to see.

Funny you should mention it, I originally was supposed get a used deck for a 2320, turns out it was for a 2520. So we are aware of the differences. I now have a brand new 62D1 and the parts are new for a 2320 also, this is very frustrating.

Apparently your dealer was clueless in thinking the hydraulic was supposed to set the height instead of the mechanical dial.

Seems many dealers suffer from this "Clueless Syndrome", and if you call JD they say to always refer to the dealers. I am waiting for a callback from a JD supervisor on this issue.

Can you get the deck to just hit the frame with the 3 PH? How far from the frame is it in the locked position?
Do you have an adjustable link with threads? What year do you have?

the deck just 'almost' hits the frame - its very, very close - but does NOT contact the frame

to get it in the locked position i do have to raise the 3pt lever into the highest position and hold it there and then turn the knob so it locks.. the 'normal' up position is not high enough to get it into the locked position

Ill have to check to see how far away the frame is in the 'locked' position - IIRC - it drops only about 3/4" or so at most from when you lower the 3pt while the deck is locked up.

to get the deck to lock I adjusted the threaded rod that goes from the 3pt to the MMM frame

My tractor is a 2006 model.

I owned a 2320 for 5 years with a 62D deck & mechanical lift. The blades would raise to over 5" above the ground. You can adjust the 2 yokes up, that connect to the lift arms. Number 3B in the upper picture below. You can also adjust the yoke that is on the rod that runs from the 3 pt hitch arm to the mid rock shaft. Number 21 in the middle picture below.

Also the the 3 pt draft links can be set to different positions at the lift links. This changes how high the draft links raise. Lower picture. This would also change how high the mower deck raises.
