Might have no bearing on the issue here, but I can tell you guys this much...online and television advertising in any form, rather than making me want to buy something, always makes me loathe and detest the advertiser in general. Was watching "Jeopardy" recently and as they cut to a commercial break, Trebek told the viewers "and now you can enjoy watching these commercials..."
YEAH, RIGHT !!! I always have and always will go out of my way NOT TO PATRONIZE ANY ADVERTISER who chooses to interupt in any way what I want to view. ALWAYS. Do the morons who cram advertising down the viewer's throats really think the crap they are trying to make us buy appeals to us because of their tactics?
Totally agree.
This morning they injected a video at the top of the white page part that couldn't be skipped for 15 seconds and then it took more time to really quit.
Don't the administrators of this site know that a large number of the folks
live out in the country? Many places, including mine, don't have broadband cable internet available. The old copper phone lines are full of static from mice building in the up boxes at each residence and splitting box along the way and usually don't even meet the FCC standard for voice communication. The alternative I use, and I'm sure many others do, is expensive Satellite service. It is not near as fast as any city cable broadband service and has MB daily use limits that are eaten up by the crappy advertising.
As JD Green said above, forcing ads on us turns us off. I never had anything against Cub Cadet, never owned one, and have known people that do. The recent game on this site of adding a link to them every time someone innocently adds the words Lawn Tractor has turned me off to them. I don't want people to think that I endorse Cub Cadet in any way, because I don't.
We realize the site has to be paid for by advertising, but subtle advertising will keep the TBN market base growing rather than shrinking it.
