Oh yes the "Ole Game The System". The world is full of crooks and not all of the crooks carry a firearm. Individuals have been gaming the system, since the system was invented. System crooks hate computers and will tell any and all they are the work of some evil force. Why do they hate computers so? Because the computer can count and track what the system gamers are doing or attempting to do.

Computers are helping to eliminate or minimize fraud in EBT or WIC programs. But don't worry I am sure the "System Gamers" are as we discuss this developing new avenues of attack and new programs to launch an assault on.

Have you tried to get a refund on something lately? Did you get the feeling you had to jump through "Hoops" to get the refund? System Gamers are moving into this area big time.

I'm lucky, I haven't had to step into a Walmart in almost 8 years. I believe we still need the wic programs or welfare, but I also believe more severe punishment needs to be placed on abusers.

I have personally been involved in a hearing to revoke a grocer's priviledge to accept food stamps. It was alleged that he was treating the stamps as cash, not restricting the purchases. He was found to be in violation.

I know of too many people that get EBT card that don't work and don't look for work. A couple of months ago the wife and I were at the grocery store going to checkout with a full basket and some young guy asked if I was on food stamps to be getting that much.

Walmart parking lots are a great place to camp in your trailer or motorhome. Pull in.....set up your camp chairs....pop a cold one and watch the people. Kinda like going to the circus....except it's free and there are no elephants. Although....I must admit.....one lady in Grants Pass, Oregon was pretty good size but she wasn't grey....had to be a lady....I think!:laughing:

. . .After a shopping trip last Sunday I was so disappointed that I had to write them. The store was a wreck and many items that we were looking for were completely out of stock, especially infant supplies i.e. diapers, formula etc.

The manager informed me that they had a run on items mainly from customers with WIC cards that had just been loaded that day or the day before.

You know. . . that manager didn't have to call you, but he did. That tells me he values your patronage, no matter if you buy 100% of his story or not. I consider that great customer service and an attempt to give you the best possible shopping experience. I'd be back in that store lots and maybe even write another letter if I see they are doing something very good/right. Customer service goes far beyond the big box exterior. It's people-to-people showing they care.

I agree, we'll continue to patronize that Walmart. We will however attempt to avoid shopping there the day following scheduled government giveaways. Several years ago after several manufactures shut down a lot of the housing in the community was classified as "section 8" and adds were put up in Chicago attracting renters to the town. The result is not a pretty one.

The main reason I moved to the location I'm in now was for the low cost of living i.e. property taxes and land prices. I drive about 35 miles one way to work. The poverty comes with the territory.
