Great video, and informative, although I'll never get to use a back-hoe and probably never a chipper. (last load of chips cost me a dozen of beer) We are not allowed to burn over summer so a good burn-up Spring and Autumn (Fall for you guys) keeps the place tidy.

I noticed that the chipper is held by outward pointing pins to the lower arms of the TPH. Have you come up with an easy way to open the arms instead of winding those turnbuckles out and back. I can never find the 19mil openender when I want it and climbing from side to side down amongst the machinery is a right PITA. :)

Nice video.

Aaron Z

Thanks buddy. Took a few hours to edit and 30 hours to upload but its HD so I guess that's why. The material might not be great but the picture quality is good

Well this ends the thread for me. I said I'd keep it going until I got the video done and uploaded. You got to see the new BX25D sitting on the showroom floor to the time it was purchased and its arrival to me.
You also got to see some modifications that are unique to this machine and some never done before.

I have appreciated all your comments (well most of them) but I hope you got something out of it all like trying to do things with your own machines to make it unique to you. My mods aren't going to suite everyone's taste but there mods I wanted to do.

There still are a few other mods I'm going to do and have the parts on the way but I'll show them in a video some time in the future.

Time to take a break from posting and put this BX to work and keep it working for the next month or so. We got a lot of improvements to make to our property. I'd also like to thank Darcy and Todd at Newfoundland Kubota Ltd. You guys have always been great to deal with and thanks for storing the BX on the showroom floor all winter for me  The Kubota BX25D have exceeded all my expectations.

Have a great summer everyone. Stay safe and happy tractoring.

Paul,
I don't know if I can thank you enough for this thread. Every day I anxiously awaited your next posting. Your creativity and craftsmanship are absolutely amazing. I think all of your mods are very practical and obviously fully functional. They are constructed with quality materials and your workmanship is the BEST!! Some people are very innovative, and some people are very skilled. You are both to the nth degree. And the best part is you have shared it all with us. The digital photos and videos are well done, and they really show the quality of your work. I can't imagine how much time you have given to provide all the posts, photos, and videos not to mention the PM's you probably responded to. Your decals are also nicely done. Creative and carefully applied but not gaudy and cheap.

Thanks again Paul, and thank Kathy also for all that the two of you have given us in this forum. I'm hoping you'll continue to share your thoughts and work to whatever degree you're comfortable with.

If I ever get to Newfoundland, I'd like to stop by and admire your empire in person.

I have really enjoyed this thread and gotten some great ideas. I need to learn to weld. It got me thinking also as to the differences between the BX 25 and the newer BX 25 D, actually there are very few. Same engine, etc. the seat is different and in my opinion better than the seat on my BX 25 but too expensive to switch out. Interesting, is that the Hydraulic pump on the original BX 125 is rated .1 gpm output than the one on the "D" ( 6.2 vs 6.3) yet the lift capacity of the three point hitch 24 inch back on the "D" is rated 10 lbs higher than on the original BX 25 ( 670lbs vs 680 lbs on the "D") The ROPS on the "D" is almost 2 inches higher. The "D" tractor itself weighs 45 lbs more than the original BX 25. so slight improvements with the "D" as it should be but not enough to influence me to upgrade, if I did I would go to a larger tractor and can't justify that. That said the mechanical thumb option offered on the "D" would be nice as is the optional quick FEL hitch and the pallet fork option. Bottom line they are always going to come out with something "a little better".

Don't feel bad, his great ideas have made us all think of "additions" to our BX 25's. every time I think about a bigger tractor I am reminded at all the things this small workhorse will do and do well....... and it is more flexible than a larger tractor for the average (none of us that enjoy the advantages of a tractor are average) landowner. Got to get started on my list of "improvements"

Sorry Jim. I missed your question.
I simply just pull the shackle pins on the 3 ph to spread the arms BUT I do have future plans to re-engineer that system. Glad you liked the video. Thanks.

I get blamed for everything I do
I love the BX but I got in the 5740 today and it felt Hugh to me.

While my mods are no where in the same class a "4shorts" her is one I did no my FEL The chain hooks are obvious and used frequently but I also had a piece of square steel welded along the top of the bucket under the top lip to provide extra strength to the bucket. I also ran a electrical line from the 12 volt source under the seat to a switch and that powers the pump on my sprayer. I like having an electrical pump for the sprayer rather than using a wobble pump off the PTO. Next mods include work lights and a rear view mirror. Just hope the lawn plugger I ordered is not too heavy for the three point hitch. Added a picture (not great) of the bucket mods.
