Sorry Jim. I missed your question.
I simply just pull the shackle pins on the 3 ph to spread the arms BUT I do have future plans to re-engineer that system. Glad you liked the video. Thanks.

I get blamed for everything I do
I love the BX but I got in the 5740 today and it felt Hugh to me.

Wish you had not done that with a new tractor, gets me thinking about the B2650 again, which I had logically dismissed

Were those Levi "chaps" you were wearing when using the chain saw?

I look forward to seeing what you come up with Paul.. Those factory turnbuckles and shackles on the 3pt are a poor design.. On top of that, the shackles arent that strong, the pins on mine are completely bent into a C shape. I have to pound them out or unwind the turnbuckle to spread the 3pt. Makes hooking up anything a real PITA.

I have an idea for mine, but I can't find some of the materials I want to use.

I might try making some sort of quick hitch too... dont know yet

I suggest upgrading to a system like that on your L. We did that on our B7500 (got them from Stabilworks) and it made a world of difference when hooking things up.

Great video, Paul. Mrs. Paul definitely rocks.

I'm with everyone about Xfaxman's post/meaning, I just figured you hadn't had your coffee yet.

I changed out the factory turnbuckles on my BX24 with these, from Tractor Supply. They have held up fine for a year, with various implements. At the rear of one side, I use a clevis pin, instead of a bolt, so I can swing that side onto the Cat 1 pins last.

The broad solid surface of the center section means I can adjust each side by hand to center the implements. Rocking the top link side to side allows me to tighten each side snugly.

While my mods are no where in the same class a "4shorts" her is one I did no my FEL The chain hooks are obvious and used frequently but I also had a piece of square steel welded along the top of the bucket under the top lip to provide extra strength to the bucket. I also ran a electrical line from the 12 volt source under the seat to a switch and that powers the pump on my sprayer. I like having an electrical pump for the sprayer rather than using a wobble pump off the PTO. Next mods include work lights and a rear view mirror. Just hope the lawn plugger I ordered is not too heavy for the three point hitch. Added a picture (not great) of the bucket mods.

Hey don't be so hard on yourself. Nice job. Looking forward to seeing more of your mods

I'll be changing them for sure but it will be in the fall before I get back to any tractor mods but it needs to be done for sure.

Ya I'm thinking along those lines like the "L" but with a bit of a twist ;) Thanks for the link.

Thanks man. As for Xfaxman's post it's hard to tell what he meant. Using the emoticons would have helped if he had used them. Not using them made it sound hostile. :confused3:

Those Stabilworks links are similar to what Deere did as OEM on my 4200. They're easy to use.
