It doesn't matter. None of the perps want to be the first to die so just the sound of a shotgun cycling in a round will clear most situations and a first shot that leaves the closest one to her bleeding will clear the rest. .

I don't think anything but buckshot would be effective. I remember from my youth cutting a shell to see what was inside. That .410 shell had three lead balls stacked one on top of another in it. I'm not sure if the lack of distance would allow the balls to spread out. I would rather have a gun with little recoil. I want her to not fear the kick and shoot holes in the floor or ceiling because she's worried about how much it will hurt. It's also why I don't think anything but the smallest caliber pistols would make good self defense gun for someone who's not an avid shooter.

Load a .22 with hollow points and then see what they do. They go in small, but you ought to see what the exit wound looks like. Doesn't matter it isn't the larger caliber, they will do the job, and one can be VERY accurate with it! Handgun gives 5-6 rounds with a revolver. Pump rifle gives me 17 rounds. Enough for more than a couple of perps. And place the .410 rounds where it counts, it will make a difference!

my new 12g shotgun has a 5 and 8 round clip, a 12 round drum, and im thinking of getting a 20 round drum........need something to eliminate those pesky watermellon and pumpkin men ha

From what I saw of the video it's the owners of the weapons that let their wife, girlfriend, friend of a friend shoot the weapon that are the so called "tards".
By the way the word "tard" in reference to anyone is demeaning and disrespecting people that have a legitimate life challenge.

I like "what if's" and that is what everyone of these posts is about. A person is more likely to be killed by a relative or someone they know than a complete stranger. I read about it everyday. Even if it's gang related they know who they are shooting at. If you have have three, four, five "perps" coming after your butt most likely you deserve to be on the bad end of the deal.
Not to offend anyone but firefights in the cornfields of the midwest is a little farfetched. Multiple shootings will and always be planned for the most damage done. That means public areas with confusion being the norm when things start popping.
From what I see it's going to be your Uncle Charley or the EX that's going to be the one to watch out for.

Too broad of a brush with which you are painting and I simply cannot accept it. As to "deserving it", I know too many Law Enforcement Personnel who have had contracts on them or were the targets of crime, the last Tom Clements to accept that either. No disagreement though on the likelihood of armed combat for the vast majority of us. However remote that possibility might be, I intend to be as prepared as I feel prudent.
