I was in China back in the early 90's and a bike went by that had little cages the size of a big hen egg, each one had a cricket or two in it and they were all singing. All the cages tied together were the size of two 100 lb feed sacks. That is what my ears sound like. It all started when I shot my .44 at a deer. Not only did I get the crickets I did not get the deer. That has been almost 6 years and it stays about the same.
Yeah, I used to shoot .22 indoors on a comptetive team as a youth.... no hearing protection. Bad decision. So is listening to loud rock music in a car, concert or with headphones. The damage is permanent, not temporary. I always wear earplugs now, on tractor, pushing mower, weed eater, power equipment indoors, outdoors, etc... but the thing that makes my ears hurt most is a hammer and nails indoors. Its like theres a needle in my eardrum with each hit. OUCH!
