Millermatic 211, 212 or 252

Tried ordering the 252 today but the guy that quoted me the price was with another customer.

Should call me back in the am.

$2215.95+Tax Canadian funds.

I will meet the truck next week about 40km from my city as the LWS I am buying from is about 100km away.

A decent price. I was told the price has been going up and down with the dollar. Changing almost week to week.

"Ray" called me back today; 252 ordered should be in next week.

Called praxair and a smaller LWS and prax said $2800 wow and other said buy it from Linde as I cannot come close to that price.

Will update with pics when I get it.

Wonder if you would have gotten a better price in person? Im sure these guys must get lots of calls in a day from tire kickers who have no intent in buying.

Interesting. Spring promo at AL had the 252 at $2450, but I got mine for way under that. KMS still has it for $2499. When I was shopping a couple months back, my quotes were all within a couple hundred of one another.

Full retail on the Miller site is only at $2819. Nobody ever pays full retail. If a dealer said that retail on a 252 is $3200, Id look for another dealer. He's either lying or severely mis-informed.

Fired up the ol' gal today just to run a few beads with 7014 and 6010...still got it! and I was surprised at how well the Sparkler welds. Maybe Ill keep it after all as I know have enough for the new welder.

I sold my Lincoln tombstone welder as soon as I got my Miller Vintage. Sometimes I wish I had kept it for welding those hard-to-reach spots and when dealing with painted or rusted up stuff where you just want a couple beads on it and keep doing whatever you were doing without having to clean everything up all pretty for the mig welder. Mine also had an extra long powercord which was nice for welding stuff that doesn't fit in the shop.

You're gonna love it - I found one on Craig's list about a month ago, "used" - guy had it for about 4 years, complete with double bottle running gear and 30A spool gun - gave him $2800 for the welder, 250 CuFt C25 tank (empty) and 160 CuFt Argon tank (full).

In this case, "used" meant he'd run about 4 pounds off ONE 33 lb spool of .035 wire, the spool gun had NEVER even had a tip installed ! Still had the original "gimme's" in a plastic bag inside the spool cover :cool2:

I'll be selling my 211 to a good friend, who only wants a smaller rig - I got a good deal, so will he

I've run about 4-5 hours of actual trigger time on it so far, still drool every time I crank it up.

OK, now hurry up and get that puppy outa the box and MAKE something Steve

Oh yeah, and I will NOT be getting rid of my old 250 amp AC/DC stick machine, there's just some things that NEED a bead or three of 5/32" 7018
