New questions!!

Kaiser, Contributed to 1 or 2 other things that helped the US & England win WW2.
What were they???
Are there any of them left???

In the 50's a new land speed record was set at over 300 MPH.
Who set the record??
What country was he from??
What happened to him??

Liberty ships built on assembly lines. I rode a troup transport to Alaska on one in 1955. Also a converted cargo ship (not sure it was a "liberty" tho) monitoring Russian ICBM lauches off Kamchatka in 1974/5. Huge antennas with massive amounts of radiation. When operating, going onto the weather decks was "not a good idea".

300mph was broken in the 1930's.

My squadron got in trouble, firing it off at night & lighting up the Admiral's house.

Good one!! Liberty ship is correct.
He set up 3 assembly plants & had them competing against each other. Building kept getting faster & faster.

They got so fast a ship was built in - hours - days - weeks????
He also pioneered at least 2 construction methods still in use today???
Early liberty ships had a major flaw, that sank quite a few of them???

There is 1 left, it was found in Europe. A bunch of old Farts that had crewed on them went over & got it. It came to the US under its own power. May be restored by now as they were working on it.

A new question??
When P-38 is mentioned most of us think of a airplane.
There was another P-38 carried by almost every GI. What was it??
German's also had a P-38, Know what that was???

P-38 Can opener. Still have mine.

Good 1 - 100% correct. "C" & "K" rations were terrible. I think they were canned after they were stale.

Now what about the German "P-38"???

What about Duct tape. Yes it did save the astronauts on mission "13" when the external oxygen tanks exploded. It had to circle the moon in order to get headed back to earth.

What was the original purpose that duct tape was invented for???

P-38 is beer. You drink 2, pee 38!

Sorry, I couldn't resist! :D

Crash....ole buddy...I beg to differ with ya - I loved most of the C and K rations....the can of Ham and Lima Beans
, Boned Turkey, Ham and Eggs were my favorites....I still have my P-38 as well....They were feeding us those rations as late as 1972 and maybe later...they had manufacture dates of the early 1940's ...so I was eating food canned before I was born....

Sealing duct work
I think originally it was made for temporary water-proffing material and because of these properties it was originally "duck" tape...
