i was at a cub dealer and he has a used blade and offered it to me at a decent price. i'm tempted by it, but i'm not sure how practical it is. obviously limited by size and power, what CAN it be used for?

i'm thinking maybe little jobs like smoothing driveways and yard work? maybe not even that?

how does it go on and off? i've looked for an instruction link on the web, but haven't located one so far...

thanks...

I don't think you'll find it will push much weight. I tried a blade for snow removal and found the limits were pretty low.

Had a snow blade on my 2165, it would plow snow great down the driveway, but even with chains on it ,I had a hard time getting up the driveway with the plow up. I don't think it would do much pushing packed hard gravel

thank you for taking time to reply.

yah, i tend to agree with you guys. i also have to say that the dealer has been absolutely honest in all my dealings with him, and 100% correct in what he's told me. he claims that if i put windshield washer fluid in the tires and chains on the rear i can do a lot more than i would imagine. i've been busy the last several days, i'm going to check it out again this week.

he may offer me the chance to try before i buy. i've bought several thousand $ of equipment from him over the years... i'll ask.

I have a 2011 GT2100 and it can push an impressive amount of snow but a necessary component to do so is definitely weight. I have my rear tires filled with washer fluid and I put 2 100lb AG tractor weights and my 210lb ***** & I can BACK up my very steep driveway with the plow lifted an never slip a tire, I also have a good set of 2 link chains. ( see attached photo) See the video link below for my set up in action.

As far as a rear blade working, I just installed a Johnny Products Universal Sleeve Hitch yesterday and I have a box blade and cultivator that I am anxious to try. I tested the cultivator last night and it ripped through hard dry ground quite well, have not tried the Brinly box blade yet but I am confident it will work great also, again, weight & chains will be employed.
These garden tractors are capable of taking on big jobs, just smaller pieces at a time.
