Kioti is now where Kubota was 20 or so years ago. Give them time and they will have the dealer network, on the downside the prices will go up.

You are probably right, when I bought my first Kubota in 2003, a BX2200 it was considered an "off brand" and now it's pretty mainstream. I have seen the rise in popularity and quality of Korean cars, times change.

Look at Kia, Now made it and is knocking the heck out of Toyoda.

Yep, my older brother has a Toyota Forerunner and Camry, but wanted something smaller and bought a Soul last year, loves it after a trip to San Fransisco. I'll stick with Toyota, just bought another new one, but don't deny there are other good cars/trucks out there.

The green is actually impregnated into the base materials with a special process, and protects against all forms of evil...Both foreign and domestic. The salesman told me that, AND I read it on the internet, so it must be true.
The orange in the kubotas is a similar process...but of course not as effective.
Ya,I hear you.Nothing better than a good car or tractor salesman that knows nothing of what they are selling.

They are both good tractors with years of service here in the USA so it is safe to assume in 10 or twenty years you can still get parts for them. Did you say the JD did not have the tier 4 motor, no 2013 pollution control? This must be a 2012 or JD is using credits. This should make the tractor a little cheaper. If I had a choice I would not buy the new tier 4 engine with the particle filter and re-gen.

that's my 2.5 cents

When I started working at my first Kubota dealer in 1987, Kubota was the tractor in the area. You'd see a few New Holland's and an occasional John Deere but Kubota was king. We were selling 100+ a year but by 2000 the demographic here changed, we went from a bunch of ranchettes to wall-to-wall zero lot line housing that couldn't support a CUT dealer. The rental yards and landscape contractors still use them, but are going 50 miles out of the way to buy them. The only CUT dealer in the two counties near us is a Mahindra dealer that like I mentioned before is a camper shell dealer.

I sure am glad some people feel that you can get the same quality for 2/3's the price. Keeping mechanics in the work force, one tractor at a time ~ LS

Why is it that you guys won't answer any factual questions, like what your qualifications are to suggest that one brand has better engineering than another? Or answer how you're gauging the quality of one versus another???

The mechanic at my dealer (they carry multiple brands) says he feels like the Maytag repairman. He goes through new LS tractors, sends them out the door, and never sees them again.

So your argument is that price dictates quality, as an absolute. You pay more, and you're automatically get something better?

Wait, if I'd paid $31K for a New Holland Boomer 50 (that was the quote), I would have paid about the same as I would have if I'd gone with Deere or Kubota so how does your comment hold water? Let me help you out...it doesn't. You're simply guessing, and hoping you haven't paid more for the same quality product.

Not guessing, going off of experience.

Quality: one word, ergonomics. That's the biggest difference in automobiles in the last 100 years and the biggest difference between our machines.
