That is one fine barn. I can only imagine what something like that would cost if you didn't DIY.

I had estimates from 50-65k. Ouch. I thank my lucky stars for having the skills to do it myself.

You have done a fine job, the barn looks great. Have you made a decision on fluorescent lights? I am going to put some in my pole barn this winter and am starting to research.

No decision on lighting yet. I did some digging and have found there's a lot more options then I thought. Depending on how much one wants to spend seems to be the biggest factor. I just want something reasonable and that starts when cold.

Came out to put overhead doors in the barn and as I always do I checked the game cameras. Once again my retired neighbor and his caretaker have been wondering around and in the barn. This time the caretaker brought scissors with her and stole two arm fulls of flowers from around the pond. So I went over and had a very civil conversation with the gentlemans wife and showed her the videos of her husband and caretaker well over 500' into our property. Did I mention he is handicapped to where he can't stand upright or walk for long without a walker. Needless to say the wife was mortified and actually started crying when she saw the videos. This guy is the last person I thought I would have problems with trespassing and stealing. They have been over many times when we are here and are very polite. I guess what gets my goat is that if they had asked I would have said take as much as you can carry, but they chose to wait till we were gone to help themselves. I thought I would be angry, but I am not, just disappointed.

I did get two of the doors installed. Third one goes in tomorrow and I will tension the springs to make them operable. Pictures to follow tomorrow.

That's too bad about the neighbor, hopefully now they will only stop by when you are there.

I wonder if the wife suspects the caregiver of anything else?

Aren't people strange? Like you said, if they visited while you were there and said the admired the flowers, you may well have offered them some.

Glad to see you barn is coming along so nicely.
